Body Comp Testing
Body composition testing.
iDxa scan
Duration: 30 min. (approximately)
We measure height, weight and body composition using the latest technological advances in the field to allow comparison with sport-specific norms. A state-of-the-art iDXA scanner is used to measure body composition (body fat and muscle mass), to an accuracy of 0.5%. Body fat levels and muscle mass are also given for each body segment (e.g. trunk, right arm, left versus right leg, etc.). All participants receive a written explanation of test results.
Bod pod
Duration: 30 min. (approximately)
A Bod Pod is also available to measure body composition. This allows precise measurements of body fat proportions alone, where the level of accuracy required is slightly less than that offered by the iDXA scan. Height, weight and body composition are measured to allow comparison with sport-specific norms. All participants receive a written explanation of test results.
So going through the details of a cutting diet and plan to do this in 4 weeks.. whats your input guys and have you ever had any done?
would like to hear experiences.
Thanks.

What's the price of each. Body pod works fine for me.
I even have a buddy do a 9 point caliper test.
I look for improvements more so then bf. They all have a slight error or margin. So get it done every 3 months and west the small clothing or swim cap and see if u improve

it is 60 for the BOD POD and 100 for the iDXA..
Obviously the IDXA is better but I aint paying it lol.
Not at my current BF anyway.
They give a 0.5% accuracy for iDXA but no mention of error on BOD POD.
I would possibly try the BOD POD 3-4 weeks into my cut (which starts this Monday).

never done dxa. bod pod has been fine. it actually only takes about 3minutes in the machine itself. the 30mins is from waiting in the waiting room and then going back and changing and weighing and all that stuff..
$35 is wat it costs me.

I pay $50 for the bodpod unless i make a 6 months commitment and i get them for $150 all 6. Now for me the bodpod takes about 2 minutes from the time i change or take off clothes to weighing in and then 3 sessions inside the pod of 45 seconds each. So it really is like 5 minutes, where i do mine is a chiropractor and i go on saturdays which is completely empty in the morning. In and out!!!

I really want to get my body fat tested. Calipers are so incredibly inaccurate that I don't waste my time with them. I believe I am around 10%, but I would like to know for sure.

SteM, I think I may be higher than that. Your profile states you are 10%, so I am probably a little higher.

My avi is a little under 8%. I'd have you about 11-12% without seeing your wheels.
