Protein
How much can ones body actually digest protein? I've heard of low numbers something like 57 grams is this true?

no limit, if you only eat once a day and 100 g protein in this sitting, does that mean that you`re body will only digest 50 gr? Hell no, the larger the portion the longer to digest, but none of those amino acids will be disposed of.

^^ this. While there IS a maximum absorption rate per hour (different from person to person), it's not as if there's a huge amino dump during that first hour, your body uses what it uses, and the rest is wasted. Instead, it's a trickle effect. Think of how an IV works. Larger meals will simply take longer to digest, as stated above.

It's really a pain dragging that IV tube around while I'm working out too.

Your body is capable of ingesting the total amount of your daily protein intake in one sitting, as a matter of fact.
It is not advised for various reasons, but it is biologically possible.
