Horse meat, good alternative to steak
Tried horse fillet steak this week was getting fed up of steak, fish and chicken. Some people are funny about eating it, but I didn't have an issue, it's very lean healthy meat. It has more protein, iron and less fat than beef steak. Has anyone else tried it

I eat mostly horse meat (600 gr daily), minced or sausages . I see no issues, good for cutting and bulking.

I've heard from many people that horse meat is great. Still haven't been able to try it though.

A lot of people can't picture then as a food, but they are lean muscular creatures perfect for eating. I'd say just as nice as steak and healthier

I wish they would have just sold all the found horsemeat in the supermarkets cheap knock down price instead of recalling it all and destroying it. we should be able to eat whatever we want .. maybie it's time they sold it in supermarkets seen as they have been for years

Horse meat is fantastic! Iron and protein content is higher than cow and it is delicious! Years ago you could get it in some of the butchers in Toronto in the "little Italy" region of the downtown core. I don't know if its still as popular now or if its been banned. For many people, the idea of eating horse makes them uneasy but I'd take it over cow any day!
I've never seen it in SoCal but if anyone knows where to get it in SoCal, I'd love to know!!!!!

I have met several French BB who swear by horse meat.
I have never tried it myself though, it would be really hard to get some legit horse meat in Turkey for various reasons.

It's actually against state law here to eat horse. If you're caught killing and butchering a horse it's actually a stiffer penalty than for murder. Mind you, this is an area where deer, gator, alligator gar, turtle, bear, and wild hog are all common fare.
