Why do you snack a lot? Can't you just make your meals bigger so you don't feel the need?

Sounds crazy but when I am at work, if I get board I eat. Not really a lot of bad stuff bit I just snack. I might try making them bigger. sometime to snack on stuff I shouldn't . Bc I am running out of time to lose these last dew pounds . It just feels like I am freakin starving . Thanks for the help tho.
I find when cutting the fewer meals the better, or else I'm NEVER satisfied at any point during the day. I max at 4 meals on a cut.
Drink cold water mate, it's what I do when I think I'm hungry.

agree 100% on the meals. The only way i can stay sane on a cut is to eat 3 'meals' a day, which usually is some fruit for me around mid-day, whey pancake preworkout and a full meal post-workout.
Whether it is the 'best' way to do it or not idk, but its the only way i can keep my sanity on a cut, i can't stand just picking at food all day. It also helps me alot with my mentality to know that I've got a feat coming up later in the day (even on a cut my post workout meal is around 1400 cal)
I find that zero calorie drinks really help me when i get cravings to snack, I jerk to green and peppermint mixed tea and diet coke/orange soda on a cut, especially the tea. It's hot and lasts a long time, by the time i finish it the cravings are usually gone.
Agree to all, I eat 3x daily ,
Never hungry, pound a bunch of water and those hunger pains go away also.
Used to do 6-7 meals a day while cutting, felt like a squirrel. Never again!
drink a lot of water man.. think chugging 32oz/(1litre) at a time.. and learn to deal with being hungry.. it wont kill you...
Hey 405, you feeling any better??
It won't kill me but Damn if I am not moody. I feel like I am freaking starving at times.
Got a question tho I ate right b4 I went to lastnight something I wasn't spose to and ot was very bad for ya. But what I am getting at I sleep good and got a great workout in. My question is why is that? Thanks
Why would you think eating before bed is bad for you or something you're not supposed to do? Did you eat ice cream, or a high protein clean/whole food?Originally Posted by Bodacious
You slept good because it sucks going to sleep hungry. The hormone Ghrelin decreases after a meal as a result of being satiated. Satiation releases endorphins which make you feel good, etc etc.
Your workout probably felt better because you had more energy, more readily available calories to burn. Or, the meal simply could have been a placebo, but either way your workout was better which is all that matters.
Finally, remember that you grow when you sleep, not while you're working out. With that said, feeding your body before bed is a GOOD idea, not a bad one. Just make smart food choices, make sure the meal is fit into your daily macro/ caloric allotment, and you'll be gtg.
As for the OP, I agree with the others - eat larger, fewer meals so you're not feeling starved. Dieting doesn't have to be miserable and meal frequency has NO bearing on metabolism whatsoever, so don't worry about that.
Snacking is a bad idea in this sport, mainly because people seldom track it, and usually think they're eating way less than they actually are. You'll see the best results by dialing in a solid meal plan and sticking to it with little to no deviation.

Sunflower seeds is something very entertaining for the mouth and really not many calories for less than a hand full but it does contain lots of sodium which to some might be a down side. You have to stay focused and deal with the hunger my friend, sunflower seeds and water it helps but its your mindset that decides. I eat 8 times a day and i control my hunger whenever i want to, i just decide not to put anything in my mouth except for water. Some other times i get some junk snack and snack away but when i really want to, i make it happen and so should you.
Think about the finish line, think about how is moving away from you every time you snack regardless of what it is. You are making the race a lot longer!!! Just think about it and change the way you are looking at your goals!!!! Good luck!!!
Forgot to mention, put a toothpick or something of that sort in your mouth and play with it, chew on it if need be. What you may have is an oral fixation which means you need to keep your mouth busy. Give it a try and see what happens, helps me because it keeps my mind of my mouth!!! Pen, pencil, pen cap, tooth pick, etc
