Typically I'm fairly religious when it comes to reading the back of labels for nutritional purposes as well as ingredients, especially considering I have severe food allergies. However, the other day I absent mindedly bought a 2L jug of soy sauce without looking at the back. It has a whopping 920 mg of sodium per serving. Much higher than my low-sodium alternative I had been using before (250 mg). Stir fry and other asian cuisine is by far my staple.
My question is, will roughly 1600 mg sodium vs 2200 mg of sodium/day make a difference, if any?
Secondly, has anyone ever found "diet", pseudo soy sauce if you will that has next to no sodium in it ? As well, has anyone else found good spice/seasoning blends without a high salt content? Most of what is sold here is Club House stuff which I find particularily high.
