How many in this board drink modern alcohol?
Like state how many times a year and how much alcohol you consume.
I miss drinking its been a while but I find it that drinking large amounts get you really lazy and messes up my diet.

I'm Irish, and part of the Irish Creed is understanding there are no drunks, just good drinkers!
But seriously, I am not ever going to compete, this is just a hobbby for me, and I need to live my life

Yes what is modern? I do bussiness in asia, with lots of koreans and chinese and for them drinking is part of the bussness deal. Like they get drunk, my tolerance is pretty high so im usually ok but alot is consumed. Other then that I have barley drank since college recreationaly maybe a beer or two with my father when I visit him or a glass of wine with my girl on a special occasion.

I have never understood why people drink, eat junk food or eat fast food after working their asses off in the gym.

A couple drinks at dinner on the weekend, just hobby for me to. Alcohol in moderation is fine IMO. Beer is another story.

I just turned 21, now started to drink a bit less. College can be crazy when it comes to drinking, I try to drink only 2 times a month. Summers nearly here, think I may start taking bodybuilding more seriously than ever and just not drink except on rare occasions.

Im only 24, but I started my drinking at 16 when I joined the forces, I drank excessively in many countries. I stopped 95% of my drinking about 2 years ago.
Now I'll have a beer or a cider if I am throwing a BBQ, or if its a party. I will limit what I drink, i dont just sit and have a beer during the week, or weekend, or when sports are on. I do think its nice to chill out in the back garden with an ice cold cider when the weather is hot, but I dont get that urge to go and get drunk. Maybe this stems from me working in bars and dealing with regular pissheads.
The initial reason I stopped my regular nights out at weekends was because its so damn expensive. You can easily spend £60 on a casual night out without really trying. Thats 2 weeks worth of food. £60 is a lot to spend on a liquid that Im going to piss out, and suffer dehydration from.

I'll have a few drinks at parties (i.e. family gatherings... I'm 37, no raves for me!) or over dinner out somewhere, but my days of sitting around the house drinking, having a beer here and there, etc. are over. Simply doesn't make me feel good, and I don't really have a craving to drink (thank God I didn't inherit that gene, because my family is full of alcoholics), so why bother?

Me too buddy. My piece of shit father died in prison for stabbing his g/f to death while he was drunk.
I have a buddy that does this almost every wk during the winter in his garage. His garage is a man cave complete with flat screen, and sofas, and all the rest of the necessary accoutrements.

I got out of a relationship with an alcoholic in November. Since then I think I've had less than 12 beers, and none at all since right before I started my cycle a month ago. No pun intended, but I kinda lost the taste for it after my alcoholic broke my heart. Gotta tell you though, it sure doesn't hurt as far as my diet and goals! Even a few beers once in a while... are such empty calories and so counter to what we're trying to accomplish.
I'm sure I'll always have room for a beer once in a while, but my days of hanging out with alcoholics and in bars are over. What an AWFUL disease and type of person.

Barely at all. Don't see the excitement in drinking especially when you don't often drink the taste changes for me

I do not drink. I used to have drinking problems in my late teens early 20's mainly due to depression,
alcohol + depression really do not mix. When I started getting serious in the gym my alcohol consumption dropped off,I haven't touched a drink in a couple of years now, do not even have an urge to do so either, for me it was a confidence thing and these days I prefer the person I am when I'm sobor, so I stay sobor..
Mind you my social life has taken quite a hit, but getting serious with training tends to do that anyways. I've got my wedding coming up at the end of the year, I may choose to have half a dozen to kill the nerves, I'm not a fan of being the centre of attention so it's a day I am and at the same time am not looking forward to...
