I just need a solid carb for mornings. I'm always rushing kids out the house and running to work in the morning so I don't have time to sit and eat. I'm usually eating oatmeal on the road as I'm downing my shake. Lol wondered if there were any other options. Besides Ezekiel bread.

I like quinoa! A great carb source and it comes with a full amino acid profile! One of the best sources for vegetarians imo!

Sweet. Bagels wouldn't be in the same carb content category unless there whole wheat correct. I think I recall seeing a Ronnie Rowland thread were he mentioned it but I can't seem to find it at the moment.

Lol ok ok. Since this was originally about oatmeal. What if I got that instant stuff an poured it in my shake, would that work the same? Or do they do some funky things to it to make it instant? Like basically ruin it as a good source?

Personally, if I were looking to drop bodyfat, I wouldn't make then a staple in my diet, but a couple times a week, so long as you work em' into your macros, no biggie really. IMO.

Barley also makes a good breakfast with a little ground cinnamon.

I get Pre- ground oats from a local place. Mix in a few scoops with my shake. It is kinda gritty but it works. 90 servings for $20 and 1 serving is equivalent of 1 cup of regular oats. You do the math, it's cheaper than buying oats!!! Lol

Costco sells a 10 LB box for about $5. That's going to be right in the same neighborhood pricewise.

It is a locally owned and operated health food store. They have crazy good deals. I have saved a ton of money on sups from them
