What are peoples thoughts on this? Doing fasting every 3-4 days or once a week? Results?

I did an intermittent fast that produced great results (eating maint. Cals in an 8 hour feed window, 16 hours fast in a perpetual cycle). 405 does an every other day fast mixed with carb cycling, and his results have been great as well

fasting = awesome on many levels

    increased insulin sensitivity

better utilization of body fat for fuel

helps fight inflammation and free radicals which require constant nutrition to survive

    enables more dietary freedom IMO

makes calorie control a LOT easier IMO

Stevia tastes better and doesn't digest at all. Spenda has cals, just so low, it will still spike insulin , slightly but still will but prolly not enough to matter lol

Do you do 36 hour fasts or 24? Ive had success fasting this way, it's good shit. Cleanses your body (detox) this makes burning bodyfat easier for your body, plus it boasts HGH level and insulin sensitivity. Sure you know all this, just putting it out there for other folks to read :-D

@ T-dogg the hunger goes after few times of doing it, are /you doing leangains also?

It's easier to go straight though without breakfast, it will help with the hunger problem. But as long as you fast for 24 hours you should be fine. Do you like reading books?a book called "Eat stop eat" is a good read on this subject.

there are many ways to do it. the way i prefer is to eat my last meal by 9-10pm and then fast until like 6pm the next day. then i eat according to appetite and do not eat any carbs. also include at least 45-60mins cardio on this day.

a day like this will really help u to stay lean and give u more freedom on ur training days to crank up the carbs and cals without having to worry as much about gaining bf..

so u basically have 2 types of days:
    1. training/eating days

    2. non-training/fasting/fat burning cardio days

the key is figuring out the ratio of each so as to have the desired results.

I've started off with the 24 hour fast after reading Brad Pilon's book. Then switched to the leans gain approach of 16 hour fast and 8 hour eating window. Now I fast sometimes 22 hours a day and a 2 hour eating window on some days.

This has helped me stay relatively lean and I'm strongest as I have ever been. I'll be turning 30 soon.

Eventually when my schedule allows me I will be doing the warrior diet of only eating one meal a day at night time before bed.

I feel awesome when I'm fasting during the day and at night when I eat I get sleepy.

I'm never going back to the 2.5 hours eating.

What is "relatively lean" to you? What else did it do for you?

I'm not cutting right now. I'm gaining 2 pounds per week. (not all muscle) so I'm staying relatively lean. If it wasn't for fasting I can guaranteed for me, I would be putting on a lot more fat on.

And at The start of April is when I start my cut, Fasting (for cutting) has helped me burn stubborn fat that I thought I could never get rid of. (with the help of carb cycling).

It supposedly (I forgot what source I heard this from, I think Brad Pilons book) ejaculates HGH by 1000% when your fasting to preserve your muscle. Like 405 sais it increases insulin sensitivity. I'm going to live till I'm about 121 years old.

    It does wonders for me.

My only Con is sometimes eating a super big meal makes me very tired. So I try to only eat at night time. I work out fasted as well in the morning/afternoon So I have no choice but to eat after an hour.

If you get the chance read EAT STOP EAT by Brad Pilon. You can download it for free on the net. its only like 50 pages.

12 hour fasting is pretty easy if you fit it around your sleeping pattern. I start my fast 2hours before bed. Then once I've slept 9-10hours I'm already close to 12hours fasted.
I've been tempted to experiment with both a 16/8 fast routine, and a 24hour fast once a week. This will drastically reduce my calorie intake for the week and could see done great fat loss.

I started at 10am and went to 1030pm. Was a small test run.

tdogg IMO u will get more out of it if u maintain the fast established by sleep.. personally i have been fasting but only counting my waking hours. so if i fast 12 hrs then its 12 hrs after i wake up. i started with 6 hrs and increased the duration over time.. (weeks).. up to 12 hrs..

sleep is just a bonus but i do not count it..

On what - fasting? Not currently, although I've been considering writing one up. The problem is that there are SO many different 'flavors' of fasting... but I suppose it's not that much different than training or dieting in that regard.
