when calculating your teedee need help

When I am calculating my teedee do I use my current weight or the desired weight I want to be? Because im 5'6 180lbs and want to drop to155 and build muscle I calculated my teedee with 180lbs and seems like Im eating like if im 6ft or too much

LBM x 15 = TDEE.

With this figure you can then add or subtract calories depending what you're doing. A daily deficit of 500 calories should yield around 1lb a week loss.

^^^Correct.....and to clarify, LBM is your weight minus body fat.

For example, if you weigh 200lbs with a body fat of 20%, your total bf is 200 x .20 = 40. So your LBM is 200-40=160lbs.

The sticky uses a different method, it doesn't account for bodyfat however.

There are many ways to calculate TDEE, they'll all give you around the same result with +/- 200Kcal. They're just estimates, use it as a guide, when you start to diet properly you'll begin to know your body and know your TDEE.
