1 & 1/2 Lbs. of Beef + 1 Pack of Bacon A Day
Maybe this is a stupid question... but I'm wondering if I'm wrecking my body by eating 1 & 1/2 pounds of beef, and a pack of bacon, each day. I use that to help fulfill my protein requirement, I'm not a fan of whey protein or eggs anymore because I find that it makes my body less able to sustain stressful workout sessions. With that being said, should I worry about uric acid buildup, among other things in my system from this amount of meat a day? If so, what can I do about it?

that's a shit load of saturated fat....
...you may want to reconsider your protein sources?

What if I alternate it to every other day?
For example: 1 day, meat, next day, whey & eggs?
My joints kill me without dense, red meat in my diet.

why all the friggin bacon?
you should eat bacon sparingly. the saturated fat from red meat, or any animal fat for that matter, will increase your "bad" (LDL) cholesterol and clog up your arteries and veins. Knowing this, then why would you choose this path?
Eggs are a fantastic protein source and are very slow burning, and very inexpensive.
When eating animal meat, try to keep it as lean as possible. the idea is to live a long and healthy life, which means only eat bacon very sparingly.

Why wouldn't you eat chicken, fish, steak, turkey etc? Doesn't have to be only eggs and bacon l

Bacon is about the shittest protein source you can have IMO. That saturated fat and sodium content. Lawd.

Watch your sodium nitrate intake as well. Nitrates turn to formaldehyde when in contact with your stomach acids. Not healthy at all man.

Thanks everyone. I'm changing my ways and going back to a diet that involves moderation, instead of extremes. The real issue was, and is my joints. I'm gonna go on MSM as TimesRoman suggested...

In moderation you can eat whatever the hell you want...
But to get all your protein from sources that are high in saturated fats is not the best option....
I don't believe saturated fats are as bad as what people make out.... In fact I feel that have a good place within your nutrition plan..... But like everything, you need to take a 'down the middle' type of approach and have balance....
If you want to eat bacon and red meat that is fine, but I would eat them in moderation and choose some other protein sources that are lower in sat fat....

Just wanted to update this thread in case someone stumbles upon it; they might find some value from it. Anyway, while my joints were going through a weak phase, I was consuming coffee, which I usually don't do because I never really need that "kick". I've recently stopped drinking coffee, and now my joints are back to feeling thick, and oiled. I figure it was the caffeine from the coffee, having a diuretic effect on my body and flushing out the water from my system to an unacceptable level, that made my joints weak. Keep in mind, my body without caffeine, already doesn't hold much water, or fat for that matter. I'm still going to try out MSM, and my diet has involved moderation recently.
