    Did Back --
Lat pull downs supersetted with cable rows. Two warmups, one feel set - and then one all-out set to failure on both. Killer!
DB rows - tonight I worked up to the last set with 55# x 8, with a double drop following.
BB shrugs - also went up on these tonight - got to 115 x 12!
Abs, and out. Great night - I'm getting better at the intensity.
I just keep telling myself, "Just one more rep" then just one more, etc. It's working anyway.

Time to start logging again. Been training hard, and posting on Marcus' thread, but I want to keep up here so that I can follow my progress.
Today was the first day I did back in my own Iron Palace! Went good, not great though.
Have to work on intensity and focus.

Dead lifts - worked up to sets of 225. Not bad, it just felt off. New bar that's too wide, clamps that didn't work, and no mats to set the bar down on. Just different...
Lat pulldowns - felt great. Up to final set of 8 at 110#
    Barbell rows - top set of 115# x 10.
    Better next week!

You'll get used to training at home. Once you get used to your equipment and start adding more here and there you will probably hate the idea of a commercial gym.

    Keep going

I think you're right BIB. It's just weird right now - I've been finding my happy place in a gym for a decade.
This morning - while deadlifting, I had to clean up kitten poo!

Thanks for the support - it means a lot.

    Redemption this morning.
    Shoulders -
Presses, 2 wu, 1 set of 6 with 30's to failure, then rp for 3 more reps. Last set was forced reps and negs (my husband finally woke up haha).
Rears with 25s for two feels sets, then with 45's for 7 reps (these were a little sloppy, but I don't have any db between 30s and 45s yet)
Upright rows with the sm curl bar x 14, then with the big one x 8 with forced reps and negs. These felt great.
Cable side rows x 3 straight sets.
Done in 40 minutes! Much better. And yes, I sortof copied someone on Marcus' thread that I read in the last few days - maybe Cape?
    Anyway - thanks!

    Oh Phoenix - me too!
And it's no fair that shoulders is the body part most visible.
But I guess we've got two choices - either keep working them or give up. I say let's hammer them!!

Thanks Girly! Slowly but surely it's getting better.

Arms today - went great. Supersets of DB curls with EZ bar curls. Lots of volume. Last set was all out to failure.
Then preacher curls with cable curls - again, last set to failure, with RP and double drop.

Triceps - rope pressdowns with drop set.
    Close bench EZ bar press.
Rear Cable extensions to absolute failure on the third set.

What a pump! I can definitely feel the difference in my bi's - not sure yet about the tris.

    Legs -
Tried to think about more volume today. 135 x 10 for 3 sets. Really ATG and slow.
Leg press - 3 sets of 15 - something about this vertical leg press and the higher reps made them burn like fire!
Leg extensions x 8, heavy. Last set was all out with RP
Calves on the leg press also went well.

I need more weights with the 1" holes for the leg press. Beginning to wonder if I'll ever be satisfied that I have enough weights!

That's a good point GGR - I always like to be in good shape for all the holiday food orgies. It helps to be able to easily say "No" at work, at parties, and in restaurants.

Tonight we were at a birthday party - and I easily turned down a cupcake! That's when I know I'm in the zone.
You'll be there too - I hear the determination in your posts,

Dis my training in a hotel gym today. Did legs - such as it was. They had a universal machine, but it was small.
Walking lunges with 30's DB's ( the largest they had) x 3 sets
    Leg curls x 15
Leg extensions x 8 with the whole stack!!
Stiff leg deads with the 30s x 12
Calfs on the chest press attachment x 100

Not bad. Especially when I got to use the whole stack!

Back and chest today in the hotel. Had to use lighter weights and go slow on some of the exercises.
Pull downs (again - ended up going to the whole stack!) Just a small machine. Finished with a triple drop set
Cable rows with a double drop at the end.
    Shrugs
Incline press, finishing with rest-pause reps to failure
    Flat press, same as above.

In a funny way, the universal machine really did hit the muscles right at the right place, and gave a great stretch on each rep, so it wasn't half bad!

Bunch of cardio, and I was done.

Shoulders - one of the good training sessions not great, but got it done.
Thorough warmup - right shoulder is sore.
Upright rows with 45# curl bar - third set to failure with RP.
Rears - worked up to top set of 8 with 40# DB.
Overhead press - work set was with 35# DB, with RP at the end.
    Shrugs - 3 sets, last one with 145# x 10.

Felt good, but I know I could have done more. Made me sad.
    Look out next week!

    Chest tonight felt much better!
Incline hammer machine - worked up to a plate and a quarter on a side for 2 sets of 6, with a big stretch at the end
    Flat DB - last set was a triple drop; 40's x 6, 25's x 4, 15's x 15. Excellent!
    Dips - no added weight - x 3 sets of 5
Cross cable flyes - 5 sets of 15, 20 sec rest between sets
    Abs...LOTS of abs haha.

    Back -
Smith bent over rows. Up to a drop set of 65# on a side, drop x 3. Great squeeze on every rep on the last drop.
    Reverse grip pulldowns - 2 wuu sets, last two sets were all out - 125# x 6, 110 x 4, 90 x 2, 70 x 8.
T bar rows - top set was 185# x 6 with RP, and got two more reps. Hard!
    DB rows - worked up to 55# x 8.
Cable rows - 3 sets of 10 with hard squeeze.
    BB shrugs - 3 sets.
Lots of volume tonight. Good one!

Chest this morning - felt great! Just one of those perfect times.
Flat DB - up to top set with 45's, and did a triple drop till I was fried.
Incline BB - with forced reps and negatives. (My sweet hubby got up early)
Flat flyes - drop set with 30's, 25's, 20's to failure
Machine flyes - 5 sets of 5 with 20 sec rest.

    Whew!!

Another great leg day this morning - I posted it in full in Marcus' thread so I won't re-write it.
The best part of it was I got a 225# squat!!!
I've been stagnant at 205, then 215 - finally got past it to the big plates.

There's a meet coming up after Christmas, so I'm happy to be getting the bigger numbers.

    Hey there Biker!
I'm good - and how about you?
I did back yesterday, and it was really hard. So sore that I took today off. Not like me, but I'll start right back tomorrow.
I DO have the fire Marcus talks about, and I can tell you do too.

Funny girl! Hope you're feeling a little bit better GGR.
    Bi's and chest today -
    Bi's first (per Kel)
BB curls - top set was with the 47# bar x 10! Big improvement.
DB hammers - 5 sets of 8 with 20 sec rest
BB partials - I think it weighed 65# and these were not pretty.
Incline DB - wu, then squeaked out 6 reps with the 45's. Woo hoo.
Machine flyes with drop set at the end.
Good ole fashioned pushups - 5 sets to failure with 20 sec rest.

He has said to prioritize things you want to improve on. Like to do calves before your leg training; before you are tired.

Want my Shoulders Back (and the rest of me too)-thanksgiving-squats.jpgDid legs this morning before the Thanksgiving feast - a little different; more volume and less weight.

Thanksgiving Squats: sets of 10, worked up to 185# yeaaaaa
Leg press with forced reps and partials 3 sets
Stiff leg deads - wu, then two sets of 10 with 45's and hard squeeze at the top.
Leg extensions - last set was all out, RP, drop set, and then partials to finish it off

It really was a great morning, and it was in my own gym! That's the way to do it.
