Another post about IIFYM, and a question about the nutrition info on steriod.com

#1: I'm lazy. And I love food. I've tried counting every single thing I eat to a tee, eating pre-made bb diets, and living off of whey, lean meats, rice, oatmeal, and potatoes, but I always burn out so easily. It's just not for me.

That being said, how much of an impact do you believe an IIFYM diet with the following modifications would have on my overall health, gains, and cuts (when I get to them)?

    - Still eat 6-7 meals a day.
    - No simple carbs / sugars
    - Saturated fat intake only 15% of my total fat intake (saturated fat derived from eggs not included)

#2: I'm about to start my first cycle (600mg test e/week). Is all the nutrition info (specifically calorie and macro intake) on here geared for people who are on cycle? My usual bulking calorie intake would be around 3200 cal, I want to bump it up to about 4200-5000 cal. Does this make sense?

    If you want my numbers:
    26 yrs old
    5'10.5
    170 lbs
    12% body fat

    Thanks!

Although I haven't tried IIFYM I believe it is a very long way to go about..

The hormonal response is different if you take in poor carb sources and decent sources! Sane goes for protein and fats!

The way they are used in the body will also vary depending on the source!

Well, like I said I would be avoiding simple carbs and limiting my bad fats. I suppose I should also note that my protein intake will consist of primarily red meat (and yes, a nice fat burger if I can take the sat fat hit), poultry, and whey. What are the benefits from eating carbs from rice as opposed to rye bread?

I am following IIFYM right now under the guidance of baseline........I am having great results and the happiest I have been dieting wise......I am keeping my opinions very close to my chest until I have the results I want.

the problem with your first post i.e you saying you've tried counting everything to a tee, if you follow this style of eating you HAVE to count every single thing you put in your mouth from a bit tomato sauce to any fruit and veg you eat, id say even more so than standard dieting.

I'd be interested to see what your diet consists of mate... What are you allowing yourself to eat is there anything you don't eat??

If you want to 'IIFYM' go for it.... You should be counting macros anyway so really your already doing it but maybe just limiting your food choices...

Food choices and meal timing really is not a big issue.... People over complicate this stuff way too much....

Hit your macros eating what you want and you will see results..... Eat 25g of fiber, 6 fish caps, a multi, a fruit and a veggie each day...

If your not happy that IIFYM is as good as (if not a much better) way to cut check out the results and approaches from some of the top natural coaches.... Layne Norton, Alberto Nunez, Eric Helms, John Otis Hollywood.....

These guys are the best in the business and none of them will tell you what to eat.... They will give you macros on a weekly/daily basis and leave it up to you.....

I can't talk for all of them but I know first hand that JOH does not care one bit about sugar intake either..... Carbs are just energy.... Doesn't matter how you cut it... It's still numbers at the end of the day....

The key to nutrition is the same as everything else.... Consistency....

Everyone should be counting macros and know what their intake of proteins carbs and fats are. Otherwise you're just blindly eating food.

    Bingo.

I personally feel there is some merit to food choices and to a lesser degree, timing, but the roles they play pale in comparison to the real key players - on-point calories/macros, discipline, and consistency. You can eat the 'cleanest' diet known to man, but if the above 'big 3' aren't in check, you won't gain (or lose) an ounce.

Also, I think that if you truly hit your macros and MICRO nutrient goals with an IIFYM approach, (and assuming macros/calories are on point) you'll find there won't be much room for junk. That is to say, you'll be applying IIFYM in the fashion the approach was intended, which never was to be 'lazy dieting'.

I fully intend to keep track of my macros. I'm not going to count them perfectly, though. What micros should I be paying attention to?
