help me help my wife
My wife's stats are
Age 37
ht 5.1
Weight 155
Bf about 37%..
She is trying to loose weight and she can do it with weight doctors where they give her b12 shots and some pills but we all know thats not the right way. I'm trying to get her to loose weight the right way (diet and work out).. I just calculated her BMR and I came up with 1400 cals a day, does this look about right? If so what do you suggest for protein, carb & fat intake? I was thinking
165g protein
240-250g carbs
Fats 60-70
Let my know if I'm on the right track or if I have it all screwed up.. thanks

I have a news flash for you, i got my wife to lose 70lbs in a year. now she doesn't work out anymore and is gaining. Its just not in her nature. you can't make someone do something they don't want to. it will be half hearted ly and won't last.

That is true and I agree with you.. however, she's been on it for some time and I think she'll stay on it.. She want yo jump on var or Winny but I refuse to get her some of that till she gets her diet on check and looses fat%..... can someone please tell me if my figures on my first post look right? Thanks

simply up your protein and cut all carbs, just got to stick with it. also consider Austinite's Fat Loss Protocol.

What is her training protocol? How many sessions, how long, how much cardio?
I'd suggest her maintenance without training is close to 1500 cals.NO SOURCES GIVEN

Thats not true if it will become unhealthy. Its better to stop her gaining fat before it becomes something serious like a heart condition.
I think thats too big of a drop. Why dont you track your wifes calories for couple days just what she eats normally and count from there.

I was hoping you'd reply to my comment. The last advise you gave on my diet worked and still working. I'm shredding off fat like crazy..
Anyway back to my wife, she's working out 5x a week cardio almost everyday after weight training except 2 of those days that consist of a zumba class and a heat class (kind of like p90x with very light weight).. I know some one here said cut all carbs and up protein but I know thats not true and unhealthy... do my #'s looked right for her on my original post? Again thank you bro

I have a question pertaining to this thread and apologies if im high jacking thw ops thread.
Lets say his wife or my wife or anyone for that matter. Ate right. Lets say low carb high protein diet. But didnt actually workout that much. If the person is still eating clean maintaince cals...what happens to the body? Obviously no muscle gain...but do you still achevie fat loss?
Again sorry if this was a high jack

Make the rest up with carbs and see where her stats go. If you adjust anything make it carbs.NO SOURCES GIVEN

Also make sure she is drinking plenty of water. Have her shoot for 100 oz throughout the BETWEEN main meals and before she goes to bed. I never drink anything with my meal. Just helps me to put down more food faster
Report back on what she discovers. Post up daily cals and macro split. Be interesting to see what she realizes just by doing this.

That's in the ballpark of 2000 calories, which for your wife would be to much.
4 cal in a gram of prot/carbs. 9 in a gram of fat. That might help, and I agree with you , don't ditch all carbs, carbs are important for daily function. Make sure shes drinking lots of water to
