Liquid (cartoned) egg whites causing bad breath??

My wife has been complaining about my breath for the past few months. I've been blowing it off as just her teasing me (we fck with each other that way), but last night I went to see my mother and she was complaining all night of some odd smell (she didn't specifically say she thought it was me/my breath, but that was my immediate thought).

I've wracked my brain as to what could be causing it, and the only consistent food item I eat is liquid egg whites. Have any of you heard of these causing bad/'weird' breath? I've heard of terrible gas/farts which, oddly, I don't get at all from consuming them, but this breath thing is really starting to give me a complex. I'm afraid to talk in people's faces now, getting paranoid! My wife described my breath as:

"sweet, repulsive corn". Then my mother said the stink she smelled was that of a "damp basement". Go ahead guys, take your shots now, and then help a brother out! lol

I doubt it has anything to do with liquid egg whites.
Are you on some weird diet?
Are you injecting anything with Guaiacol, are you?

Do you still have bad breath after brushing your teeth? If so then its stomach problems. Don't blame it on the eggs. It could be just the diet in general. Have the doc check it out as it can be the beginning of something bad.

Nothing out of the ordinary. Your basic foods really - egg whites, protein powders, chicken, beef, pork, veggies, a bit of fruit and some oats, that's about it. I'm fasting daily, but have done so in the past without issue.

Not that I know of, lol. Do test and/or HCG count?!

No bad breath after brushing my teeth, and I should have mentioned that it's not consistent - it comes and goes. All morning, nothing. Around 2pm, it just 'emerged', which is why I'm thinking it's diet related. It's weird, I can literally almost 'taste' it in the back of my throat/nasal passage. Esophagus issue?

Nah, it's nothing like that. It's not a rot type smell, it's not your typical 'bad breath'. It's more of an odd smell than a bad one, despite the (purposefully comical) descriptions by my 'loved ones'. lol

Hmmm, hadn't thought about that - but yes, big time. I'm literally walking out the door now, but I'll list my complete supplement regimen tomorrow and you guys can have a look at it and tell me what you think.

I used to drink them but not anymore, if I eat an eggwhite now its boiled. When I did drink them, nobody every complained of a weird smell and I didn't notice anything myself well except maybe gas..that was bad.

Might be a redundant question but are you flossing well? I notice broccoli and chicken (huge staples in my diet) get stuck in my teeth a lot and I can actually taste/smell the shit as I floss and it's not a pleasant odor... Brushing will cover it for a while but if it's stuck in there good it will come back. I feel like my saliva doesn't break those things down as well as other foods (bro science)

I eat the hell out of cartoned egg whites (cooked) and nobody has ever mentioned anything of breath including wife. I eat over a cup a day.

My first guess would be a bad tooth possibly. I have had bad breath when I had a tooth that needed a root canal. Brushing would cover it for time being but it will come back shortly. Just mention it to the dentist next time you go in for a checkup.

    Altoids and gum.

Here and there, but not regularly.

It's been a while, but I can say with 100% certainty the issue isn't within my mouth/teeth. It's either a stomach, esophagus, or nasal/sinus issue - I'm thinking the latter.

Nah, like I said - it's definitely not a tooth issue, not a rot smell, nothing like that. I can almost 'taste' the smell in the back of my throat and/or up in my sinuses whenever it's 'acting up'. I'm really starting to think sinus infection. I knew somebody who had one and I remember being able to smell the distinct odor of 'infection'. Although, I don't think mine (if that's what it in fact is) is all that severe, yet.

    8:30am - and I haven't noticed the smell/taste surfacing until mid-afternoon.

    Hi GBrice,

I see you take Maca Root. I was ingesting quite a bit of that a couple of years ago, because I was Vegan, and read about the benifits. I just recently read that when it is processed it loses 90% of its benifits. Dont know about the breath, sorry.
But I realized that the Maca was a bunk supp.

I will try and find the info.

Not what I was looking for but here is something about it:

Whole World Botanicals - We provide fair trade services with indigenous communies for natural herbal remedies

Of course they could just be pushing their product.

My first guess was diet. But it's you so my second guess is some kind of stomach issue. Someone I know has this, but I can't remember who it is ....

Oh and by the way You take a lot of shit bro. That must be expensive.

The wife and I eat probably 90% organic and our food bills are around $1500 a month.

Only supps I take are Vit D, Fish Oil, and Organic raw plant protein.

    Plus Test, Deca , Tren

$1500 a month for organic - no thanks. That's just crazy.

You'd be better off to just buy a side of beef and plant a garden. Maybe do some deer hunting.

Yea, I realize that most root extract supplements are a gamble at best. I think some products are better than others, but nobody really knows cus' they're not regulated. I take it for the supposed benefits with regard to sperm count/quality. It's relatively inexpensive, so I don't mind.

I've really been focusing on this lately (didn't have it at all the other day btw, then just a bit yesterday... like I said, it comes and goes) and I'm almost 100% convinced it's a sinus infection. It's absolutely not coming from my mouth - I can literally feel, smell, and 'taste' it up in my nasal/sinus cavities. I never thought of this because I've literally never had a sinus infection, no idea what one feels like or the symptoms to watch for. After reading, it's odd because I don't have many they list (yellow/greenish discharge, pain, pressure, etc) - only congestion (which I always chalked up to my allergies), and this odd stink from time to time. I'm going to make an appt. with my doc and probably get a script for some antibiotics. Hope that does it!

I know, my supplement regimen has gotten a bit out of hand. I'm going to do an overhaul soon and tone it down. I used to be *very* supplement light (multi, fish oil, Vit C, and that was about it) and now I've gone on to the opposite end of the spectrum.

A fairly recent change, but I'm pretty sure this issue was present prior to starting the probiotic. Further, I use the acidophilus daily and some days, don't have the smell at all. Sinus infection!!!!

Speaking from someone who had sinus infections nonstop as a kid, that's a very good option. Yes it can. It sounds dumb, but when I'm sick like that I know breath stinks. How I know is I can walk up to a mirror and breath on it and the mirror gets foggy. Weird logic, but everybody learns there body in different ways lol

Thx T, I'll keep you guys posted. I'm optimistic I've isolated the issue.
