    Beer!!!

OK - Figured I'd get somebody's attention. I admit it - I like beer. I like to drink a couple before bed. I like to drink a couple when listening to the wife tell me about her day (OK - maybe 4). I like to drink a few ok maybe 8, on the weekend with my buddies on the weekend.

In acknowledging my weakness (1) How do I count the calories? (2) What is the potential for liver damage while using AAS? (3) If trying to drop BF, should I switch to an alcohol I like less with fewer calories, stick with beer, or just quit?

    Thanks.

Hey bro, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but as I understand it beer at least on a regular basis is a no no. It's not so much the calories as it is the effect that alcohol has on the metabolism. Alcohol takes precedent over anything else in the system, meaning that it skips the line and is metabolized first so anything else sits there and is not utilized thus being stored as fat. Also it continues to have a negative effect on the metabolism for up to 24 hours post consumption. Another unfortunate side effect is that it inhibits testosterone production for the same 24 hour period which I don't need to tell you will kill gains (if you're in a cycle that might not matter I'm not sure). Anyway someone with more knowledge may chime in but as I understand it's best to keep alcohol in general to a minimum, and if you must drink do so the night before a rest day so the metabolism is surpresses when it's not so bad. I only drink once a week tops on Saturday if at all (Sunday is my rest day) hope this helps man

if beer/alcohol is still that important to you then you really haven't done enough reading. once you know what it takes to be healthy, look good, feel good, beer will be the last thing on your mind.

You may be impressed and disgusted when/if you discover how much it holds you back. You are drinking away a considerable amount of effort you have put forth in the gym.

M not saying it can't be done and you MUST give up drinking but drinking on cycle, especially alpha-alkylated cycle, is irresponsible IMO. Besides that if you're off cycle drink if you must but just limit it the best you can. As previously stated, it will skip to first place on your digestive priority list lol and everything else will take a back seat to it. Plus it's LIQUID CALORIES that must be accounted for. Don't know about you but I hate giving up calories to liquids and 99.5% of the time I only drink water.

lol. Funny post OP. 4 to 8 beers a day is a problem regardless of cycling. You're a functioning alcoholic. I would seek help. Alcohol, moderately is totally fine. Getting hammered on the weekend sometimes is fine, too. But the daily urges are worrisome.

I wasn't a beer drinker, but loved my vodka. When I cut alcohol from my diet everything "woke-up". What I mean is, my gains started to move forward, my body fat started to shrink. I hardly ever drink now. I found that the results I get from not drinking FAR outweigh the expedient happiness I get from alcohol. If your on cycle you shouldn't drink at all anyway. But trust me and do yourself a favor, lay of beer and alcohol for 2 weeks and hit the gym with a little bit more intensity... You'll be amazed at how well you feel, sleep, fvck, and look.

Thanks to all for the advice / suggestions. I've been replacing beer time with gym time. Seems to be working. I don't really miss the beer as much as spending time with my buddies, but I guess its all about priorities.

Just give it up brother. Take it from an ex infantrymen, we are considered the most fit alcoholics in the world, lol. I used to drink my fair share of suds, but ever since I quit I noticed my stamina and weight loss picked up a sh&7 load!

I might drink one beer one night a week. I usually drink half of it and it gets hot and ends up being thrown away. Like aust says, you need help bro.

After a few weeks, I can report that (a) I seem to get more done in the evenings (b) Its a lot easier to get up and get to the gym in the mornings, and (c) I've either lost a little fat or water weight. I did break down and have a few on my birthday - hey, nobody's perfect. Thanks again for all the info and advice.
