Thread: Intermittent Fasting and AAS

    Question Intermittent Fasting and AAS

What are your thoughts on IF while on AAS? Has anybody used IF to diet down? Or IF and AAS to build muscle?

I'm currently using IF to lose some fat before I start AAS. I thought about continuing IF while eating above maintenance when I start.

    Any thoughts? pros or cons?

It's like every other fad diet with a cult-like following. It has it's benefits and it's consequences. The choice is up to you depending on lifestyle factors and convenience.

Well for me IF is extremely convenient, with my training, work, and school schedule.

I was just wondering if it would be detrimental to muscle building, if I eating above maintenance, and on AAS.

Ur gonna get mixed opinions on whether IF is good for bulking/lean bulking. Depending on ur stats and goals i would suggest trying it out, this way u will learn for urself how well YOU do with it. The only things u have to lose are time and muscle!

I think I'm just going to stick with it for the foreseeable future, because of how well it works with my schedule.

Convenience is what it's all about. A diet that you can stick to is a diet you will be successful with.

To answer your second question - detrimental? Nah. That said, I don't know that IF would necessarily be the optimal dieting approach with regard to adding mass, but it's definitely doable.

Have you seen my threads on IF?

I've been on IF for the past 3 years.

Like any dieting style, it can work. The degree to which it does, depends on the dieter.

I've been as low as sub-5% and as high as 10% these past few years... so yea, it (can) work. I have also done basically every other (sensible) dieting style under the sun (and gotten shredded)... so, again, it really is up to the effort of the dieter.

While this is a steroid board, AAS really are irrelevant to the discussion (and, further to the point, shouldn't factor in to whether you decide IF is right for you or not).

Logic would dictate that if a dieting style works (period), it'll work in the presence of an ergogenic aide.

    Good luck mate
