ickythump has too many fat cells

So, I hear a lot of people saying they will never run a typical "bulk" cycle again. I am inclined to think I shall not either, and not just because I'm tired of eating all freaking day, but because despite hardly straying from my diet, I still got fat on my bulk.

I know how fat cells work and I definitely have many lol Italian side. My problem is, the people I hear saying this are already pretty damn big,so yea why risk that fat gain, they already got the guns!!?? I'm just above 5'7 and 185 in the am, but when I played sports I was about 140-155, I wasn't made to be a big dude naturally. Do those who don't bulk just go a tiny bit above maintenance to bulk, say no more than 250 calories?? I can try togainslowly but man, not trying to spend a year getting a 1/4".on my arms!!

IMO bulking is often used as an excuse to mask poor diet or to over eat fattening (yet delicious) food choices. If you maintain a clean diet and slowly increase caloric intake there is no reason why you should not increase in muscle mass and maintain low body fat percentage. I would rather look cut and slowly getting bigger for the whole year then look cut for 6 months and a fat ass for the other 6 months.
Excess eating does not correlate with increase muscle mass, if you want bigger muscles you have to put in the time inside the gym and if you want your physique to display your gains a clean diet is a must. Unless you are just starting muscle mass is quite difficult to put on (2-5lbs/ YEAR) naturally. If you are taking T the rules don't apply.

just to clarify the title, the quantity of fat cells remains fixed. Fat cells grow/shrink in volume in response to your nutritional needs and what you eat.

The only way to reduce the quantity of fat cells in the body, as far as I am aware, is through LipoSuction

R u aware that Kelkel claims he is not genetically mesomorph. Hard to believe based on his self portraits of body parts. Proof It can be done! In Marcus diary those fellas lift and eat consistently. It may take u longer, but worth the time

Thanks for the responses, like I said I do understand fat, and some people have more than others, I was using test and still got a bit fat, but I'm not interested in the blitz bulk...and one person whom I've read doesn't do bulks like that anymore commented here, but was just quoting Dre, and, maybe telling me to leave the forum idk, don't think RUN is part of the lyrics....

Right, Aust and Kel, you've both stated that you don't bulk like you used to correct? Right I read that in some fat cells don't leave threads, so, do you just spend the off season (if you compete idk) slow bulking? Just a bit above maintenance like I was thinking or are you simply big enough and just don't even bulk...

That is correct. I kind of followed in Kelkel's footsteps with this one. Slow and steady, and then maintain.

I've been trying to comb Marcus'diary for that info but it's huge, hard to gather...I would assume that staying on top of bf (with bod pod) I can just coast a hundred or two calories above maintenance and adjust my workout toward my goals...Do they run high dose aas at any point then? I'm not a steroid expert but everyone says "oh you gotta eat 500+ over maintenance or what's the point!"

Ok thanks Aust, you commented while I was....

Btw, my username is from a white stripes album, guess it's a knockoff of some English saying, B.I.B. discovered that for me lol

Never a fan of bulking or "building fat cells," ever really. I don't compete anymore but it changes nothing with my nutrition and training as it's still the same. Can't comment on maintenance calories stuff as I've never counted grams of anything. Would take all the fun out of it for me. Using the mirror works just fine, imho..

Me too T, I don't weigh anything but I do look at calories and estimate, I will total them up when I figure a new maintenance amount to get a feel for how much of what that number is, if that makes sense....Right on tho thanks Kel, much obliged
