Eggs with expire date of 3 months ahead ???

I recently relocate to Hong Kong and found some interesting eggs.
So far I understood that in Hong kong everything is imported...my questions is regarding eggs.

I'm buying some white eggs that are US produced. It's written US A Grade Fresh Large White Eggs (well, of course they are from caged hens) but the main thing that I can't understand is that the expiring date on the egg and on the packet is 3 months ahead...??? how is this possible?

Any American in here can give me an explanation? (Eggs are from US). I never seen eggs that expire in 3 months time in UK, nor in other part of Europe. it's not about the batch cause I tried different batch and it's always around 3 month. Normally it should be 3 weeks. Something is wrong here I think...maybe I post a picture next time.

Unless you mean "2014", your eggs are 9 months expired.

    Sounds weird man.

My advice to you is when buying eggs its better to go with the jumbo size, you will get more egg for your money if you compare gram/price.

I'm not sure the gestation/incubation period of chickens, but if the exp date was in 2013, you've gotta be close to being a daddy!!!

Are they refrigerated? They will last longer than non refrigerated if they are by about 3-4 weeks.

You can always buy them and save one for that long and do the float test.

Well, they were in the fridge department together with all the other eggs, yogurt juices etc...just can't explain why they should last so long...
