Why no dairy during a cut?

I see this all the time where people dieting down and they are told no diary. Why is this? Does dairy cause bloating or something?

    Thanks in advance,
    Pistol

On all those B.S. fad diets they don't allow dairy. I would never do one but was curious why.

I've been eating greek yogurt almost every day. I save milk and some other dairy for primarily just higher calorie days, training days, etc. Depending on your plan, just pay attention to sugars in what you are consuming, fats etc, and how it works into your protocol. Like for instance I have carbless periods etc where milk and yogurt don't work. If you have a pretty standard diet usually it isn't a problem.

    I don't know mate.

just hit your macros and you'll be fine.

for me, I like to only drink water (ok, includes coffee/tea).

I'm not sure where this bro science comes from

Makes you 'smooth'. That's what folk used to see. It may have some relevance to competition/photoshoot time but, in all fairness, I consider a load of bull. Sure there are better ways to get your carbs than lactose but if we are talking small amounts, and you have no intolerance, then it's really not an issue.

TR, pop the kettle on me old china I'm gasping for a cup of Rosie.

It isn't all dairy, but lactose that causes a bit of bloating in most adults.
