For me I'd say Kale, spinach, romaine, broccoli, red peppers, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, garlic, oh crap, I can't limit it to just five!
There really is some truth to eating all the colors of the rainbow - variety in your veggies leads to diversity in your micronutrients. Eat a lot of different veggies regularly.

    Wait i m confused.
Bright deep colored berries? What color is that supposed to be? lol
I take the blue berries that are brighter = less sweet = less bright? Or the ones that are more sugary and about to expire in 5 days?

I think TR is referring to things like blueberries and blackberries - any dark blue or purple fruit or vegetable is highly nutritious.

I take a multi daily. If all the food I ate were grown the right way and raised the right way, probably no need. But we don't get the same quality food grandma and grandpa used to get. Most of the food most of us eat is fairly anemic nutritionally.

maybe I should have said (less confusing) deep bright colored FRUIT like berries?

so you can see I have a pretty good mix (so far) of fruits and veggies, and none of it cooked.

what I didn't bother mentioning is this

    1 pinch (probably about 40mg) 40% resveratrol
    1 multi
    1 scoop creatine mono
    1 scoop psyllium husk fiber
    5 grams MSM
    2 grams NAC

I don't add since very little caloric content, and doesn't impact macros much

except the fiber. recently I closely examined the label, and much to my surprise, 20 grams of carbs per scoop in the fiber.

Lately I've been experimenting with my morning protein smoothie by adding in diffent veggies. To my delight many veggies taste really good blended up. I've been throwing beets, bok choy, spinich, Parsley, wheat grass and so on into the mix. When I go shopping now I look for something new I haven't tried to add to my blended mix.

there you go. this is what I do too. broccoli, carrots, spinach, kale......

there's no reason for a veggie to go bad in the fridge. just toss it into the blender if it is getting some age on it and down it goes.

not sure about the beets though. pretty hard for me to stomach. maybe i'll give it a try again here soon..................?

^I really cant even taste the beets.. They seem to add a bit of an earthy flavor^ I have an iron stomach. Not much bothers me. I always throw in a cup of blueberries and 2 table spoons of pb or almond butter, those ingredients are the dominant flavors.

I have an iron stomach too. not too much bothers me. But beets tastes like dirt to me.

it's funny. of all the shit I eat, and I worry about beets.

mom used to make us kids eat em. out of a can with that slurry juice it comes in. that was some nasty shit. and because we were kids, we would gag.

but you are right. it's just a veggie.

Try powdered NAC sometime. I think it is the most bitter flavor I've tasted. Very strong. you can smell it when you open the lid on the container.......

Canned veggies are the worst, GROSS!! Other then a few meals I cook, I eat or drink most of my veggies raw. Yum. I just got a Ninja Ultima, this blender is a beast!!

Huh powdered NAC, havent tried it. I still get bitter beer face from the powered MSM every once in a while. lol

MSM tastes sweet compared to NAC

I take it for two reasons:

    1) liver protector, and more importantly
    2) heavy metal chelator - it helps detox the body

I usually take NAC every other year for six months. I'm right now going into the second of six months....

I take 600 mgs nac from now products daily for the same reasons. I use to take a lot of supplements. Not so much any more. Just a good multi, fish oil, nac, vit c, b, zinc, msm, slo-niacin and a baby aspirin daily. Oh and sometimes citrulline and arginine to give me a boost or as a pre workout.

I am actually trying to cut as much vitamins and supplements out as I can with better food choices. Its hard to shop, diet and plan meals to eat the proper foods to get everything you need!

there's a farmers market right around the corner from my new job. Stashed a few twenties in the wallet and will check it out on the way home here soon.

One of the problems with all the supps is contaminants. Who knows what residual shit is being picked up in all these powders that's being sold?
