Sexy News: FDA Approves Weight Loss Drug!

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the approval Wednesday of the new weight-loss drug Contrave, a mix of antidepressant and alcohol dependence medications.

The drug, which is intended to be used along with a low-calorie diet and exercise regimen, is approved for use in obese adults (body mass index of 30 or greater) or overweight adults (BMI of 27 or greater) who also suffer a weight-related condition, such as high blood pressure or Type 2 diabetes...

Exactly. Technology and science had continued to make us more and more lazy. For 99% of these people all of these problems are preventable. But why put in hard work at the gym and eat healthy when I will be able to take a pill in 10 years when I'm obese?

For a small percentage of our population this is good news. For an overwhelming majority, this is bad news.

I try to look at this stuff the same as any other drug. They all have their side effects and benefits.

The fact that this has FDA approval is very big. Think of all the crap that is sold as 'weight loss' which doesn't even have clinical studies or any merit of proof. FDA is as strict as it gets worldwide .

I don't think it's fair to say steroids are ok but weight loss drugs aren't which is why I posted this, as it's all relative. I personally don't need either a weight loss drug or an anti depressant but i for sure understand how difficult it may be for some to lose weight.

I also think we are forgetting that the requirements associated with this: diet & excercise.

    great!

I now wonder how many will use this as an excuse to not do things correctly?

how many do you think will be popping these new pills, and then go watch the Raider game while eating dorritos and nacho cheese?

    So the question is:

Is testosterone, or clenbuterol OK, for example, but an FDA approved far burner is not ok?

    Please explain

Ok, for me, the difference is the people taking it. For the most part, people taking steroids are using them to improve there overall health and fitness. Most have a healthy diet and regular exercise routine. Most would be healthy without steroids. Yes, I know there are people that abuse AAS. There are exceptions to everything but I'm making a generalized statement.

With drugs such as these, it is my opinion that doctors will prescribe them without making sure their patients are putting in the work necessary. People will believe (mostly because the want to) that I can go out and eat this large pizza and drink this pitcher of beer because I'm taking my little magic pills. Without addressing the ACTUAL problem which is their diet and fitness routine.

Now, I already stated that for some people this drug will probably be a miracle. But 90% of the obesity problem gripping this country (USA) is preventable if people will put in the work. I'm sorry but the overwhelming majority of people are obese because their lazy. Some have actual medical problems but not most.

Why does this bother any of you? If it means less fat people, I'm happy.
Quit being presumptive and judgemental and worrying about how much "work they're putting in".
That attitude is what is wrong with our society and is the reason why AAS were banned in the first place (i.e. "athletes need to just train harder and stop trying to take short cuts".

Doesn't matter that the fda approved it or not, it won't work. Maybe for a few but not most people. They won't take it or say its to expensive. There will always be an excuse.

Exactly. No need to be concerned with other people's intentions. Should be looking at the big picture and how it can be beneficially for those willing to use correctly.
