How to afford protein (teen)
Alright so I figured out the macros I'm going to start incorporating into my diet, but, how do you all save money? I'm 19 and currently paying for my own groceries (sucks so bad) and protein sources are so damn expensive, especially if your trying to vary your sources. I'm aiming for 300g of protein per day, 50g coming from shakes. Any tips, secrets SOMETHING?!?! How much do you spend a week? Also, screw publix, almost 4 dollars a lb for chicken, and that's uncooked.

Chicken $1.88 at sams club. You can catch it on sale at other stores at clse to the same price. Eggs and rotisserie's are another cheap fix. Basically look for sales

300g protein is really excessive, settle for lower quality meats if it's really a problem. I'm in Australia, 19 and buying my own groceries and I spend $60 a week on food to eat 3000 calories a day. Just gotta settle for lower quality/worse tasting foods.

300 g of protein is alot. You can make good gains on 1g or so per lb of body weight. Not sure what your stats are? I hunt so I eat alot of venison and wild game . From the woods to the table is hard to beat. Its cheap and you know where it comes from nor to mention one of the best sources of prorien you can get. IMo

I eat a lot of chic and fish. Tuna fish is another good option.

First, understand exactly how much you need.
Really, no more than 1.5grams of protein per pound of lean body mass per day is the maximum. More than most here needs. If you go a little under, that's fine.
Costco sells canned chicken 12.5oz for about a buck and a half. That comes to what? something like 4.5 cents/gram? Liquid eggwhite from Costco has a similar cost per gram for the protein.
when you consider sources, consider cost per gram, with the highest utilization rate. Whey has the highest, and the highest "found in nature" is liquid egg white.
Bottom line, mate, is that regarding the cost of calories, protein is the most expensive source.
If you want to do this, there are certain "sacrifices" you will need to make
