Low carbs, high protein and fat during the week, carb refeed during weekend. Does someone know it this diet works on building muscle?

I have always preferred it for cutting or re-comping as opposed to bulking.
I also use this diet for cutting. Works very well. J need more carbs and cals to bulk.
I've used it once or twice. Felt like death during the first 12 days of keto but after the weekly refeeds, I felt great.
The way I decided to use the restored glycogen was to move days I do legs/back earlier in the week so I'm not as depleted which helped![]()
I would never do low carbs for bulk. high protien/med fats/med carbs IMO
But what if caloric intake is still in surplus?
On steroids any diet works, unless your genetics are shit and you're a bad responder.
I disagree with that. You still need to eat correctly to achieve your goalsOriginally Posted by dfarre
if you take steroids and eat garbage you will not respond well period. They are not magic. You have to put some work into your nutrition to achieve your goals. Why do you think so many struggle to achieve there goals? It's simple they have not mastered there nutritionOriginally Posted by dfarre
No, doesn't matter at all. It's a myth and bro-science bullshit, there's no actual scientific reason for that. They just don't eat enough consistently and their training sucks. Training is more important than nutrition, even with the best nutrition in the world most people would make shit gains on a bro-split for example.
are you really saying you think people can eat junk all day and achieve there goals if they train hard enough?Originally Posted by dfarre
food is the only source for weight gain.
Without adequate nutrition you simply wont grow .....nothing bro science about it. Training is critical as well in that if you are not pushing yourself past your limit and training as hard as possible then not enough tissue damage has occurred. So......you need both! You can dirty bulk if you like as long as you are getting your protein requirements meet, you will just have more work to do when you cut but that's up to the individual.
I would suggest you attempt a volume heavy training program in that case and then come back and tell me training is more important than nutrition when you won't even be able to get a good training session in bc of the inadequacy of a diet. They both are important and they both influence the other.
This has to be officially the dumbest shit I have heard on here yet.
Can I get some of these "magic roids" that make any diet good enough?
I'd love to just pound pizzas & grease burgers & be at 7% Bf. Wtf - why hasn't this worked?! Ahh - it's my genetics
Like what the fvcking fvck

^^^ yes I know, in my first post I was responding to other posts, then quoted you and wanted to make sure the OP understood. I hope I made sense![]()
Let's get back to the topic. Will it work for hypertrophy if i'm in caloric surplus (despite low carbs)?
I don't think you will be taking full advantage of the cycle by keeping your carbs low and looking for hypertrophy. Unless you are spot on with your diet and you already have alot of cycle experience then I think you will be dissapointed in your results post cycle.
Then its my opinion that you are going to be disappointed. I have done this when I trained natural as well and my feeling was I wasn't ripped and I wasn't big either.....I looked fit like I did alot of military style training. That's just my. 02, give it a shot....that way you will know what it does for you.
Yes it will. To what degree depends a lot on you. Early on I did well with this but early on I had a lot of fat to lose and was "bulking" when I prob should have been cutting. I did it using a CKD at a caloric surplus. You see early on I thought low carb with refeeds was the magic answer for me since it worked so damn well cutting and it is a valuable tool for me to this day. What I learned however is once I got my BF down, the only time I would do it is to cut, as carbs help me gain more mass when bulking. That being said early on at higher bodyfat I was able to bulk very well with virtually no fat gain at a caloric surplus doing this type of diet.
As said above, you have to try it and see what works for you personally.
this is one interesting diet to try for sure..
Anybody had tried this diet w/o AAS and did some track log/photo log of the gain progress?
