    Refeed days

I've been hearing a lot about people having a "refeed" day (isnt that just a fancier way of saying cheat day?). How many of you guys do this? And how often?

Sorta. Refeed typically refers to carb cycling, being the high carb day. My .02.

    Different strokes different folks

Refeed or cheats can deep 6 a whole week of cutting when nearing a goal and eliminated or severely limited to one cheat bite meaning not a whole day but one meal. Again not too crazy.

But for some reason I thought u were bulking????

A refeed day is just loading up on carbs, i use it as a cheat day basically but i use an IIFYM strategy anyway so it's not really 'cheating' per say.

I am always bulking haha... But I want to keep it as clean as possible so I can hopefully "recomp" by gaining muscle while lowering my body fat a little (not trying to get into the single digits or anything). I was just wondering how often you guys had a day where you could cut a little loose and eat maybe 2000 cals worth of five guys burgers (like I did for one of my meals this weekend) for example lol

If you are bulking then you don't need refeed days as you are always in plentiful supply of nutrients. Likewise if you are wanting to stay as lean as possible you will need to limit the amount of your pig out sessions. The finish is in the preparation.

I like what GirlyGymRat said, it shold be limited to refeed meal not day...if you pig out all day you will likely set yourself back from all week of hard work...limit it to couple hours / 1 meal of eating what you want, and i usually have something healthy before hand so i can only fit so much crap into me...

I believe its both, but i do feel there is a protective effect from "metabolic damage" that could occur from long term dieting...

So the general consensus is 1 cheat meal a week? I was thinking of using it as motivation during the week. Like if I eat clean and stick to my diet/training I would reward myself with one meal consisting of whatever I wanted on the weekend.
