Who's done a Ketogenic Diet and how was it?

Planning my summer cut (actually already started SLOWLY dieting) and I know I'm going to be hitting a sticking point so I've been thinking of switching to a Ketogenic Diet to really crush my goals. I'm curious for those that have done it how did it go and how did you feel? I did South Beach many moons ago and it made me angry and tired all the time. I know they are similar diets minus the Ketogenic testing to ensure you're in the right state of Ketosis.

How did this diet impact your workouts? I eat a ton of carbs pre-workout to fuel my workouts and was curious if being carbless kills you in the gym?

Any other tips/advice you can offer are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Pistol

For many years I would do a CKD to cut. I used to structure my workouts alot differently. i would do my carb load sat and sunday. Then Monday I would do upper body, tuesday lower body, friday full body depletion workout.
It worked pretty well for me actually but I have always found myself to be pretty carb sensitive.

Im on keto right now, for me this is the best diet for keeping hunger at bay!...,i do really well on keto after the first few days. I have used different ratios at different times, right now my ratio is 80% fat, 15% protein and 5% carbs. Though usually its 70,25,5.

I function great in the gym on keto and really well during the working day.....

downside...not eating carbs, i love them!........

I will be moving to CKD style in a few weeks.

I did CKD a few years ago. It melted the fat off in the beginning, but then I would stall out at around 11%bf. I've heard of this happening to others as well. I was also doing low intensity cardio as well. I think if I ever did it again, I would switch to HIIT. My ratio was 70f/30p.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I plan on starting keto very soon.

My plan will be cyclic, with a carb splurge every 2 weeks.

If I "stuck" at 11% I'd be very pleased

yea about that... do you use your mind for making money?? I can get it down to less than 30g carbs per day and yes it does work and works fast.. however training can be a beast,

If you were just doing low intensity exercise, it can still work...

I recommend cycling it if anything

currently doing the "no processed foods" diet, thats more paleo than anything and am doing very well cutting fat,

I'd say it is allowing for a "recomp" rather than a true cut..
