Eating before Bed....
I am talking about eating a good size meal then going to bed. I am wondering this because I wake up and drink a cup of coffee then straight to the gym. Sometime I make myself 1 cup of oats in the microwave with protein mixed with them.Eat that real fast. Just don't have the time to let it digest.
I am just wondering if it would help me with energy and or strength???
Thanks everyone.

Perfectly fine, if anything i'd just hit a protein shake with some carbs in it if i didn't have the time to let some oats settle. That or a banana and a shake quickly then head to the gym.

Bodacious,
You may have received a sufficient answer, but I wanted to add that your metabolism consists of the constant building up and tearing down of all body tissue. A large player in that process is your natural level of human growth hormone . This hormone, as you may know, is largely regulated by your sleep cycles. A very large meal immediately before bed MIGHT interfere with your sleep cycles and HGH cycles. I do believe that eating before bed is essential and important, but do not overdo the size of that meal.
That being said, in the morning it may benefit you to consume lower complexity carbo hydrates along with the oats and protein, for example, half an apple or a handful of berries, to help elevate blood sugar levels and help encourage your workouts.
And as always your overall diet will play a much larger role in your body's ability to perform and recover. So eating well throughout your day will absolutely play a larger role in your performance and results than a single meal.
