    Eating. . With a child?

So im trying to clean up the diet. Summers coming, you know.

I've been able to clean everything up except dinner. You see, I'm a single dad. 7 year old kid. I won't allow myself to force her to eat 'clean', i feel like she needs to be a kid and eat "normal" food.

Anybody been in a similar situation? Any suggestions?

My son is 4 hates chips and potatoes. His dinner always consists of Chicken/Beef, and two vegetables. He gets his fair share of puddings and snacks though. And it's his choice.

We started by home cooking curry and spag Bol, he was comfortable eating these, and they're easy to control the macros. He's always eaten large portions of fruit, and used to help me make green juice each morning, which got him interested more in vegetables.

However we were lucky I guess

What is your definition of "normal kid food"? I am a mom of 2 boys 4&5 they love spicy chicken or fish which is great for me I also make a rice and steamed veggie or roasted veggie of some kind. Make sure to use seasoning on your veggies as generously as you do for the meat (people forget how bland meat is w/o seasoning and think veggies have to be bland to be healthy). If all else fails I add a bit of cheese to their veggies and all I see are empty plates.

Meal prep for that day. That way all u have to do is make your child's food and the microwave yours.

Other then that, y not have your kid eat healthy food.

She likes the food i eat, but i don't eat fish so my variety is limited.

She likes normal stuff. Mac n cheese. Pizza. Spaghetti is her favorite.

I hadn't thought about throwing cheese on stuff. That's an idea

Cheese makes all the difference!!! Mac and cheese and pizza are nothing without the cheese. This is true for soo many foods when it comes to kids. Good luck and have fun with it.

I don't have kids but I believe there should be some kind of balance. Some days pizza, Mac n cheese or days chicken and rice. But it doesnt have to be plain like how we bodybuilders eat our chicken and rice. Like stated throw some cheese on it or make it breaded chicken. Beef is always good I felt. Or do a combo like grilled chicken with Mac n cheese on the side or something like that .
