    Thoughts on Reverse Dieting?

I recently dropped 40 lbs after I finished playing football. My calories got down to 2,600 (260P/228C/72F), weight loss stopped and I decided I didn't want to go any lower so I started reversing back up. The first few weeks I only increased calorie intake ~2% by adding 10g carbs and 3g fat each week because I was afraid of gaining back what I had lost but recently started making 20g carb jumps each week for a ~4% calorie increase each week. So far so good, I have lost a couple pounds and my calories are climbing back up.

Any advice, thoughts or personal experiences with reverse dieting you guys think would be helpful?

Best advice is to think long term and go back up slow to maintain the metabolic/body fat disconnect. Keep the training hard. Reverse dieting is individual, largely adjusted based on how your body is responding.

Here is a better explanation from Layne Norton, PhD.

Ah Layne Norton is great, an absolute wealth of information. He's actually where I originally learned about it.
