Simple & Complex Carb List: Need Help / Conflicting Information
Hey everyone, quick question about Simple & Complex Carbs.
Trying to find peoples top picks for each category. I did a tremendous amount of reading on the topic, and was finding conflicts everywhere I read. Every article, blog, or video I was studying on it kept putting the foods into the opposite category every time I read something new. One moment white rice was a simple carb, and then the next magazine article said it was complex. The lentils was simple, and another site said it was complex. This happened for a myriad of foods, and left me scratching my head.
Yes, they are all carbs, but I am trying to just amass peoples top picks, or recommendations for my diet. Nothing more than that.
Anyone pipe in so I can take notes?

Simple carbs are sugars (glucose, fructose, etc).
All grains are complex carbs. Some foods can have a bit of simple carbs and a lot of complex carbs (starch), like potatoes.
Whatever your taste pick I try to use whole and bio as much as I can.

My favorite simple are any type of fruit, watermelon is my top choice when I can find it.
Complex, depends on the main protein, for steaks I love asparagus, for chicken I pair up with broccoli.
The list is endless mate.

Luv watermelon too... quite poor fructose tough.
Also asparagus and brocoli to consider it a carb is a bit of a stretch. Asparagus have 4g of carbohydrates per 100gr, not really carb dense I would say, huh? Easily turns into a fatty food with just a drizzle of EVOO.
