Oatmeal, and yams - that's it for me.
I try not to eat wheat breads and if I do only a few slices a week, will not eat pasta durring cutting.
I'm with mudman on this, occasionally I'll toss some brown rice in but very sparingly.
Beans bro. Beans are the absolute lowest on the GI that you'll get with some taste.
Lentils are 29 I believe.
Oats are mid GI but still wothy.
If I'm cutting, it's Oatmeal in the morn and beans any other part of the day
Never thought about beans..... I will have to look into adding them. I start cutting in a few weeks and I need some other carbs to add.
This will be a good thread if a lot of other people post some more foods.
I totally forgot about those, mainly cause the wife has her reasons for not allowing me to eat too many beans...![]()

Oatmeal (reg not 1min)
potatoes
wild rice
vegtables (broccoli 99% of the time)
trace amounts of carb in other stuff (pro powder, egg whites, etc)...
That's it when on low carb.
On my low carb days, the only carbs i get are from protein shakes, broccoli, and cauliflower.
On my Hi carb days i'll eat alot of quinoa, oatmeal, natural applesauce, whole wheat pasta, and maybe some whole bread every now and then. I'll have dextrose PWO if it ends up being a training day.
When cutting, you can never go wrong with oatmeal, yams, and wheat pasta. Unless you are a fat bastard and looking to totally eliminate your carbs, you SHOULD eat these when cutting. Wheat pasta is actually the lowest out of the three. Thier glycemic index goes as follows.Originally Posted by rissinite

Oats are not a medium glycemic carb. Things like wheat bread and brown rice fall into that category with 60-65 on the glycemic scale.
Beans are a great option, just read the labels on canned ones, esp. baked. Many of them get doused with sugar or honey.
Just a few thoughts.
Im all about the whole grain oats, some times low cal wheat bread, on avg what would u guys consider a cutting phase in terms of amount of carbs?
