Canned tuna versus Mercury, is this something you are concerned about?

What do you all think? Is this an issue you are concerned about? If so, how much tuna do you eat per day? TY...Bill

It's controversial. CDC says one thing, other sources say another. Below is a link specific to bodybuilding nutrition. Use it as a guide and if concerned get mercury levels checked at some point.

It was never (and still isn't) intended to be a warning to the general population. It was aimed at pregnant women and small children. Somehow, this got extrapolated by "experts" to encompass everyone.

For one thing, Selenium binds to methyl mercury, rendering it non-bioavailable. Take a wild guess at what tuna has a shedload of. I can think of one person that I've ever spoken to, who had issues with the mercury in tuna, and she was eating something like 12-14 cans per week in contest prep, and weighed a whopping 104 lbs.

Personally, I've eaten more than double that before (using it as my sole protein source during an RFL cut), and had precisely zero issues.

If it was the case being that I eat about 7 cans a day I'd be dead I think
