I still drink a diet pop every now and then, i prefer zevia now. Everyone on this forum should try it. I don’t know what sweetener is in diet snapple, but a lot of artificial sugars still trigger the same insulin response as real sugar or carbs do. I personally think that if your macros are on point and your in a deficit, have at it.

This is not correct. They have tried to show an insulin response to sweeteners forever and still is coming up short. Artificial sweeteners, generally speaking, is Ok to consume.

Take a BGL reading fasted
Then eat or consume at least 2 packets if Splenda, equal, sweet n low, or a diet Coke
Take BGL reading 45 minutes later
Then tell me there is no insulin response it blood sugar change.

Stevia causes in my case, (non diabetic, just curious BGL checking) a 25± point rise in BGL (I tested fasting and ate 3 grams of truvia brand) about 40 minutes after eating it
Splenda (sucralose ) caused a similar spike, but it took about 75 minutes
My average resting fasted bgl is 73 to 80

nothing wrong with a spike in insulin with no calories present , especially for fat loss. I purposely take exogenous insulin (with no carbs) prior to a cardio session to illicit better fat mobilization . its not like insulin spikes magically cause fat gain, doesn't work that way.

Zevia is the best. Also i have seen first hand that it can overtime increase insulin sensitivity in some people. Pretty crazy. And yes, insulin spikes are not a bad thing depending on goals, macros, etc. at least it shows you aren’t insulin resistant which most likely means you are not healthy
