Avoiding Catabolism
Because of my new job and my new hours I will only be working out once a day in the morning (weights 3 days a week and cardio 6 days a week). The day that I do weights and cardio together, I will not have time in my schedule to split them up so I have to do one right after the other (hour and a half up to 2 hours). Since I am working out for a long period of time in one shot, I want to avoid becoming catabolic so should I have a protein drink or a meal replacememt right before I workout? Meaning, which one is more appropriate? And how long AFTER the "drink/meal" should I wait before starting the workout?
Thanks.

If u want, u can have just a whey protein shake in water about 40 mins before your workout and cardio. This should still enable your cardio session to be productive for fat burning, if that's the goal. Note you'll wanna go for at least 40 mins.
I'd go hit it all on empty w/coffee right before if it were me however.
