    How Much Protein?

    I'm just wondering, since I've been reading A LOT of stuff on here lately that seems to contradict a lot of other stuff...

    What's the current wisdom on protein intake? Both for bulking and for cutting? On and off cycle?

    The number I hear getting thrown around the most is 1.5g per lb of lean body mass, but that seems like an awful lot. I've heard other say you don't need that much unless you're cutting, I've heard others say the exact opposite and it seems to change from year to year.

    So what are your thoughts on this currently?

    Easily one of the most debated topics with the highest level of broscience.

    I build my macro nutrition based on meals not overall weight / lean body mass. I start with 30-45g of Protein per meal (I eat 6 meals per day). I'm usually between 60-80g of fat for the day depending on food choices. I slot the rest of carbs based on goals. Cutting will be whatever calories are leftover divided by 4 to get me grams equal to 350-500 calories less than TDEE. Bulking would be the reverse.

    When macros are completed I then look at micronutrient and make sure I have a good spread of

    - Sodium
    - Vitamins
    - Minerals

    I only take 2 vitamin supplements, and 2 other supplements.
