I wouldn't if it's going to take you past your fat intake for the day. I eat peanut butter while cutting but I have it figure into my diet. The natural ones are high in cals, no sugar, and some have almost no carbs and the fats are very good for you. JMO

the smuckers natural creamy peanut butter has

    serving 2 tsp
    total fat 16 grams
    sat fat 2 grams
    cholest 0 grams
    sodium 120 grams
    total carbs 7grams
    fiber 2 grams
    sugars 2 grams
    protein 7 grams
    no trans fats

Its kinda high in carbs and sodium and has some sugar.

It says all natural on the jar but it has sat fat, i though the all natural jars dont have that type of fat in it?

I cant find any natural peanut butter besised smuckers and maple groove at the supermarket.

Smucker's isn't too bad but I wouldn't use it. Get Crazy Richard's Natural Peanut Butter it has no sodium, no sugar, and a few carbs like around 4. Sure it will have some saturated fat it's coming from the same source a peanut, but don't worry too much about it.

Exactly I wouldn't avoid eating pb. When dieting, especially if you cut your carbs you'll need your fats and natty pb is a good source. Look at your diet and see if there's room for it.

You should avoid excess calories and low GI carbs (except post workout). PB is fine: good fats and some protein too.

However, I do have to avoid PB when I am dieting, but that's simply because I love it and would eat a lot of it if it were in the house.

That's because the people who did that study weren't bodybuilders who were consciencious enough to know that they should avoid processed sugars. The crap in non natural peanut butter is equivalent to what you would find in a reeses peanut butter cup.

Yes.... that is the difference...... I don't want the surgar or other processed crap in the other types of PB that will spike my insulin levels.

Of course it doesn't matter if you are like me, and find the need to devour an entire jar in 2 days
