What’s the concern with low fat? Not sure why there is fear around fats especially while bulking.

I feel I do better with more carbs and when I had carbs and fat high I seem to put on a lot of fat.

I know its not what you want to hear but bulking would look like this. You just want high calories and macros right?
    Ben and jerries ice cream
Olive oil (tons of it) on everything you cook
Pizza and chicken wings, lots of them
    Beer, tons of beer

if your going to bulk on low fat diet , then you need to have good appetite. as well as consume things you can easily digest and assimilate. this is where the whole idea of "chicken and rice , mother fuckers" kinda came from and has been a go to for decades.

can't you just snack on cold chicken and rice out of a Tupperware container all day

imo, its much more enjoyable to bulk with fats added to your diet. but fats do have a propensity to make some people fat. as fat needs no hormonal mechanisms of action to be stored as body fat (as do carbs and protein)

    he said low fats
the olive oil is full of fat and the beer is too much in carbs so not a good option but its an oldschool powerlifitng thing.. olive oil will bulk you up if you use tons of it in your meal prep..

Appetite is not really an issue for me anymore, 1/2lb chicken and rice with some BBQ sauce is my second lunch. Im just finding it hard to get 4000 calories of easy to eat semi healthy food without going for garbage like pop tarts.

Fat is 9 calories per gram whereas Carbs are 4 calories per gram. So substituting 100g of carbs for 100g of Fat is 500 more calories which could translate into fat gain

Non meat fats like nuts, oil, butter, etc are not easily tracked without being religious on weighing food, counting macros, logging meals etc. A "handful" of peanuts as a snack could be anywhere from 100 to 350 calories.

Statically, people are terrible at self reporting. IIRC it's something like 5% of people know how many calories they eat in a day within 95% accuracy. This is part of the reason why so many BBers have some sort of journal and why apps like My Fitness Pal are so successful. Assisted reporting mechanisms actually rank higher than registered dieticians in weight loss/gain efficacy because of the added accountability factor.

Not saying you fall into the above bucket per say - just giving some common pitfalls as to how people gain weight adjusting to high fat. Ironically, a lot of people gain weight instead of lose weight on Keto due to some of the above points.
