    Keto Cyclical

Has anyone done a Cyclical keto diet long term ? I have bad experiences with carbs and they don’t do well with me I was recently vegan for over 2 years and I’m sick of carbs and never really ate a lot of carbs before vegan I was keto for 7 years ,

I love keto but I always did normal keto or TKD I hear a lot of people swear by Cyclical keto , I would only do one refeed a week I wouldn’t do the whole weekend but anyone here have great results with this type of dieting long term ? Ive always been worried about the refeeds but maybe this time around I should try them

Also I have no problem after eating carbs and going to zero carbs the next day I don’t get sickness I went from 2 years vegan 700+carbs a day to zero over night and felt amazing my body’s well adapted

It depends on what specific benefits your trying to achieve from being in Ketosis. If you want to become fat adapted long term then I wouldn't recommend recess days. Also depends on how your trying to optimize your microbiome and internal body. It takes ~120 days to turn over new cells/bacteria. Long term ketosis shifts your gut to become dominant in eating fat-based organisms. Refeed days send your body mixed signals and interrupt that process.

I was in Ketosis for almost a year. I personally don't recommend refeed days as you lose out on a lot of the physiological benefits.

For anyone serious about Keto, I recommend getting a reader that does both Blood Ketones and Blood Glucose. The pee strips are useless.

If you wanted to do a refeed day then you should get a BHB supplement.
