What do they put in fast food?

For whatever reason, when I'm dieting, I crave McDonald's cheeseburgers or BK Whoppers. It's not like I am short on any one macro because other things would sound just as good (like a burger from 5 guys, which is way better). I am generally not even a big fan of fast food when I am not dieting. There has to be something in it, that's not normal added to burgers, that my body is lacking. Idk what it could be

I read a pretty useful article once that I can't find at the moment about food cravings, what they mean and how to satisfy them with healthy options.
Basically, when u crave certain foods it's because your body is short on some nutrients due to dieting.
If I remember correctly, when u r craving things like McDonald's it meant u r short on zinc or magnesium (and because double quarter pounder or BK's whopper are the shit lol).
I will try to find that link and post it here

It's the high sodium, hydrogenated oils, other fats, and psychological stimulus (think about how happy kids are eating their first happy meal).
Not too mention 99.9% of fast food items have sugar in them.

All those factors combined put a lot of strain on the brain. This is part of why child obesity is so high - a child/teen/young adult is no match for that combination of foods.

A really good documentary is "In defence of food." There's also Food Inc, Cowspiracy, and a few other decent ones.
