this is a post for you guys new to the scene with basic diet questions. I'm giving you a sample diet of what a bodybuilder trying to grow diet would look like
this is both macro and micro nutrient dense and covers a lot of basis
meal 1
whey isolate protein shake in whole milk, 1/2 cup quick oats, spoonful of peanut butter. 1/2 banana
meal 2
5oz of ground beef, 5 whole eggs, large bowl cream of rice, 1 whole apple
meal 3
8oz chicken, 1.5 cups rice, large bowl mixed veggies, 1/2 cup olives
meal 4 (post workout)
whey isolate shake , 1 whole white bagel
meal 5
12oz steak, 2 medium potato, sour cream, salad veggies with olive oil dressing
meal 6
6oz salmon, shrimp or clams on the side cooked in butter, 1 cup rice, 1/2 avocado. 1 carrot
90% of you guys would grow on that simple nutrition plan

Thanks man, going to incorporate some of these exact meals. Never tried ground beef with my eggs or shrimp WITH salmon. Shrimp added to salmon will be super easy to make with some cheaper frozen bags I get that just need cold water run over them and a dab of spicy as fuck cocktail sauce.

I moved away some from isolate shakes and more towards drinking whites straight from the carton, but I think I’ll start using both again. My girl will appreciate the less foul fart smell

this is a technique that can help you get your bulking calories in for sure.. a big part of satiety (meaning your tired of eating) is simply from the same taste being exposed to your mouth over and over.
the reason I can't eat 10 whole eggs for breakfast is because its too much volume for the single food group. my taste palette will shut down.
but if I do 5 whole eggs with cheese, then 5oz of ground beef.. I will get that down no problem and get plenty of fat and protein needs. then shit I'll hit a cup of oatmeal and strawberries.
same with adding shrimp to salmon meals .. your mixing up your pallet to allow you to eat more

side note -- I would stay away from using egg whites as a protein source. the idea that egg whites are "real food" and whey isolate is not real food is BS.. 90% of people that have an egg allergy or get an inflammatory response are from the eggs whites themselves, not the yolks and not the protein content

Chicken and rice have been my staple for years. My wife can’t believe that I don’t ever get tired of eating the same thing. Egg whites for breakfast for years.
I guess I don’t have a taste palette. Yeah every now and then I want something different but no biggy

definitely use sodium, especially when cutting. your depleting your body of carbs and minerals and nutrients when in a calorie deficit. Sodium will help keep nutrients in muscle and help maintain muscular fullness and contractions.
guys who pull out sodium when cutting end up getting flat, weak, and looking stringy and their gym performance goes way down.
note - peak week for a show is a totally different situation. sodium and mineral manipulation for contest prep is its own unique thing (I usually sodium load guys during their depletion phase just before peak week, then I lower sodium slightly, and only pull it out completely right before the show when diuretics are brought in and water is cut)
