I seems I'm a high fat type
Yea so I've been about 2 solid weeks on carnivore...had some rice and popcorn yesterday to see how my body reacted to carbs...i had no craving for them at all and didn't care, but wanted to see. I was sick of eating burgers and steaks, so i wanted to change it up.
I must say, in the last 2 weeks I've been very strong and have had stable energy. I have literally zero flatulence and but haven't gone to a bathroom in a few days. When I do, its not much. But I must say I've never felt like this on high carb, ever, not even on gear. I am currently not on gear and just am on clomid for IVF treatment and taking MK 677.
I know today's bodybuilding is all about max carbs as possible with lower fats, but I feel I don't need any carbs at all. Now obviously, being carnivore for life is not going to happen and I will be switching back to a balanced diet, and I only did the diet to reset insulin sensitivity. I know the 60's bodybuilders were low carb high fat with a high carb day Sundays... I feel like if I keep my fat high I could eat minimal carbs and do just fine.
Yet , took my DNA results from 23 and me and uploaded them up to a website that analyzes your DNA and tells you what you should be eating, according to your genes. It tells me the opposite, that I should be eating high carb, low saturated fat and lean meats. It says I'm lactose intolerant but I'm not. Anyway, I should be going off how I feel right?
I do believe we should eat like our ancestors. My ethnicity is Italian and they basically eat the Mediterranean diet; not much red me at all, mostly fish, pasta, beans, veggies, legumes, etc.
I get my blood work money to see what this carnivore has done. But is anyone else here feel like they run better on high fat lower carb?Last edited by JuliusPleaser; 12-21-2019 at 07:46 PM.

I function better on high protein high fat , very low carb . my energy levels are through the roof and I have never ending endurance with that type of diet.
I can play a round of golf, do 6 hours of yard work, run a business, hit the gym, and then finish off the day with an hour bike ride . no problem.
however, on that type of diet my strength and my physique go to shit . I don't want to look like a Triathlete . so I purposely slam a bunch of carbs when I'm focused on my physique and strength. even though thats not ideal for my health, inflammation, blood pressure, and daily well being .. it makes me more jacked . so the reason I choose high carbs is similar to the reason I choose to use AAS . I want to be bigger stronger and more jacked . and no other macro is more hormonally active and anabolic in the body then Carbs.
however, keto and carnivore are simply diet 'tools' to have in the tool box when needed and they work just fine depending on your goal and purpose for that time

Well I can't comment on how I look right now because im like 40lbs overweight, but I feel great and my strength going up. Could be MK also, but my cognitative function is awesome; levels of energy stable; PUMPS even after eating only protein and fat breakfast.
So I feel like this is my "zone" if you will.

I feel that there are some beneficial carbs, such as honey that can help to replace missing enzymes and aid in protein digestion. When bees collect nectar, they swallow it and predigest it, synthesizing an insulin -like substance that helps to prevent excessive sugar problems. Fruits such as pineapple and papaya in the afternoon is good for helping with digestion. White rice is the other carb, which has been the bodybuilding staple for the past 100 years or so. Most of the other carbs I don't think are ideal for human consumption nor were they intended for humans to eat.

Pretty much everything I know about nutrition has come from studying the works of Aajonus Vonderplanitz. This channel has recently been created on youtube uploading a bunch of his old material that I've never seen before. People are just now beginning to talk about the things he knew about decades ago.

I ran 4:1 Keto for just over a year. I had a bit of a learning curve but eventually got blood ketones up to 3mMol. My biggest challenge was getting enough Potassium and not breaking Ketosis. I just used Nuun and spent $75 per month on the tablets. (it would probably be a lot cheaper as an American - I think your store equivalent is called REI )
My strength took a nose dive at the beginning but the mental clarity increase over time gave me more impactful workouts. I could go into the gym with laser focus.I no longer check my inbox. If you PM me I will not reply.
