    Weird Diet question?

    Hello gentlemen and gentlewomen

Recently I've calculated my daily maintenence calories and expenditure etc etc. I've started eating withing that level. At the moment I'm not being super strict on overall diet just ensuring I'm getting the protein and calories.

I've began putting some weight around the belly over the last couple of weeks. Not a problem, I'm bulking and I'm a bit of a hard gainer.

Now, my question. If I maintain the current calories surplus, as I put on lean mass, will the slowly increasing metabolism and expenditure begin bringing the body fat back down if I continue "as is"? ... or should I be taking other action?

Sorry if this seems like a silly question.

That's a very fine line when you rely on a more efficient metabolism due to increased LBM to counter the effects of a caloric surplus.

About all I can suggest is monitor over a couple more weeks. If you see the belly increasing, throw in a little extra cardio or move towards circuit training for a couple of days per week.

Again, it's a very fine line even if you micromanage your diet and caloric expenditure.

I guess the surplus would be much higher than any small changes in how many resting calories you're burning day-to-day..

Thanks AG I think I'll take your advice and up the cardio a little for time being.
