Hey,
I would really like to know how you eat your oatmeal if you are not going to use dairy?
Thanks,
Ras

Add water. Use sweetener, and some sugar free jam if necessary.
I toss in some peanut butter and a packet of equal...
2 packs of splenda and a scoop of protein powder.
suck it up and eat it plain...or use sugar free maple syrup and cinnamon like i do
Dairy in oats?
Never heard of that!!!!

Thanks very much guys,
I prefer to eat it uncooked, I read somewhere once that this was better, and I like it better also. As far as sweetners go...Aspartame makes me sick, and I am leary of others as a result. I have also heard that these substitutes are bad for you, and they are misleading in that your body responds much the same way it does to sugar. I guess I could eat it plain, but I hardly put any sugar on it as it is...cinnamon is a good idea, I could probably cut the sugar even more just with that addition.
What about a rice milk or something like that?
Dairy as in...something to wash it down with!

Water the best to wash it down with, or a protein shake mixed w/water.
Splenda and cinnamon won't hurt you at all.

Growing up, i was always served oatmeal with some milk poured on top...it's good (if you're not concerned with diet)...and it's a better option than the traditional farm (my family) way of doing it...with a bigass dollop of butter and heaping spoonfulls of sugar...and cinnamon...Originally Posted by SwoleCat
and yea, i'd recommend the Splenda over aspartame and other sweeteners...
Ahhhhh, I see bro, thanks for sharing. Being from the south (Louisiana), I'd get banned from the family putting milk or sugar on oats/grits/cream of wheat. Butter and salt go on all of those, lol........well, they used to anyhow........my family let's me eat as I need to now because they see what comes as a result in what I do now.........

true...i suppose you don't have the luxury of dressing things up in thick slabs of butter anymore![]()
Cheat days still enable me to do "dumb ****"....aka crappy meals.........
