cb25.......you just put a 1/2 cup of uncooked oats in with protein and water and shaked it up????

yup...i tossed 1/2 cup uncooked oats with some muscle milk and whey protein...and just shook it up, no blender etc...just the allsportsnutrition turbo shaker...it was great, plus a nice change of pace with the added texture in it...mmm...

I am curious does it matter if water is in it or milk???? I was under the impression that milk is bad for you and it is better to drink all protein shakes with water like Elliot stated????

I have done this for quite sometime. I can't stand cooked oatmeal and I get so full half way through I can't finish it. Instead of mixing my protein and oatmeal together, I now mix ground oatmeal and a dash of crystal light, wyler's, or whatever name brand w/ zero cals. This morning I tried and liked it but ran into some problems....
1)You shake it but as soon as you stop shaking it settles to the bottom so you end up drinking away all the fluid and have the oatmeal on the bottom. Leading me to drink and fill it a bit, drink and fill a bit, repeat until it was all gone.
2) The oatmeal really sapped away all the sweetness of the powder. Next time Im adding some splenda!

yeah I've been doing this for a while. At work this is the quickest and most nutritious thing I could think of. Only bad thing: Almost all my protein comes from whey, and almost all my carbs come from oatmeal. I know I need more whole-food protein but I just can't always get it in my schedule :( PPWO is always whole food though for me.
Also ground up flax and whey is a great pro/fat meal. Before work I mix up some oats and whey in some baggies, and flax and whey in baggies. Also, if you prefer an easier to drink oatmeal shake, you can put it in a coffee grinder, but the baby rolled oats work great for me without grinding them up.
i been loving the oatmeal shakes in the morning as well. been doiNg it for 3-4 weeks now.
i add:
1/2 cup oatmeal
1 cup green tea
1 1/2 scoop's whey.

I find it hard to put on serious amounts of musclemass simply because I have a seriously fast metabolism and I have an active job so I find it really hard to get enough calories in. I have to drink milk with every shake and often add double cream to my shakes for the extra calories.
Is it bad to eat alot of simple carbs with a body like mine, because I eat whatever I want and dont get fat? Is it slowing my progress or is it what I need?
