I know this probably should go in the supplement section but I get better responces from all of the diet guys here... anyways, would there be any benefit to take this before A.M. cardio or would this have no good or bad impact.
Thanks,
BC

Glutamine may inhibit your lipolysis during AM cardio.
Justification: You won't remain in your "fasting state" by taking in glutamine prior to cardio on an empty stomach (as some experts believe).
Stick with stimulants only, first thing in the AM!!!
I assume you mean L-Glutamine. Most of it gets destroyed or absorbed and used in the digestive tract anyway, so it really doesn't matter. In the amounts that most people take, it's only good for digestive health anyway.
I know people are going to jump down my throat about this, so I just ask that you look into it before you say I'm wrong.
I really don't know much about the biomechanics of glutamine. I just read an article on the subject this morning while on the recumbant bike. I am certainly no authority.
I believe the article said that the body treats glutamine like a carbohydrate and even small amounts will kick you out of ketosis (not to imply that ketosis is what you are going for).
Partly true. It is used in the intestines to help maintain the structural integrity of bowel movements. And, no, it's not just good for digestive health only. It helps to keep your body from going into a catabolic state as it has been proven effective in 98% of the people tested in countless experiments and helps with cell volumization and thats with taking 10-12g a day. I have read countless studies and talked with very widely known nutritionists to not just be talking out of my ass.Originally Posted by DBarcelo

I to am trying out L-Glutamine for the first time. I'm going to take 10-15g per day as, Daman1 said. I've also read that L-Glutamine increases growth hormone by 400%.

What kind of glutamine did you get? The **** I use is only 1 gram per serving. Just wondering.
The reason it does it is because it decreases the rate of catabolism thus giving your body less growth hormone production waste. Also, EAS makes some quality glutamine as well as Vitamin Shoppe. I hope it helps you in your ventures, keep us posted.Originally Posted by Harry Knight
