    Oatmeal cookies???

Ok im not real big on cakes and cookies but my father is diabetic and likes thes cookies made by archway that are suger free, but each cookes contains 16g's of carbs and half is sugar alcohol. I tend to like them alot for some reason, are they ok to eat for the extra carbs while bulking?

well since you are bulking i dont see them as being too too detrimental, however sugar alcohols dont have much effect on blood sugar levels and are really somewhat of a useless carb. if you want to eat oatmeal cookies i would say find a recipe that is sugar free (splenda is a good sub) and then dont use too much butter or try to find a very low fat recipe that uses mostly oats as a source of carbs. all in all i wouldnt think that a cookie should be used for a main source of carbs, but since you're bulkin having them as a treat now and then cant kill you. just monitor your body fat and weight gain.

Please don't say "oatmeal cookies" around me. Ever. Unless they are 0 carbs, 0 fat, and 45 g protein a piece.

I used to make my own when I was bulking. They were great and cheap. I used tons of splenda (sugar twin) tons of oatmeal and a big jar of natural peanut butter and 1 cup of olive oil.

We're talking mega calories, but insulin spikes at all. They tasted great too... at least I thought so Very cheap to make too.

The problem I have w/sugar-free cookies is that they almost always have a ton of fat, and it's usually trans fat (just as artery-clogging and nutritionally worthless as saturated fat, except it's cancer-causing too). Sugar alcohols are better than sugar because they won't cause an insulin spike, but unless you only eat one cookie, you're likely to experience some gastrointenstinal issues because of them. If you want baked goods, try to find some low-fat recipes using whole grain ingredients, substititute sugar for splenda, and make them yourself.

Rambo, quit your weightlifting snobbery...let the guy enjoy his cookies without putting guilt on him

Actually I'm the same way when I visit my parent's house. The first thing I do when I step foot in their house is inspect their fridge and yell at them for having junk food. LOl Oddly enough, I feel better about myself afterwards
