I was wondering what is the best time to eat before a workout? also what should I eat before a workout? Carb intake? Protien intake? thanks

I don't think there is a consensus on this issue as I've seen about 100 different opinions on the subject...but I eat an apple and 25g whey 30 mins before my workout.
no, you definitely will not get one answer for this question, so you may as well decide for yourself. I think most people will agree that if you eat something right before your workout it should be a very small meal, otherwise eat at least an hour or 2 before (so your digestive system and muscles won't be fighting over blood supply).
i concur with kim....if you eat a large meal then do it at least and hour if not more before working out....of course if you go with a pro/fat meal you want to make sure that your PWO shake is at least 2 hours after your last meal and 3 is better.
Green apple
Preworkout meals are usually necessary because your body does not have enough time to break down the nutrients before you hit the gym.
some chicken and veg 2hrs before

But yeah for pre-workout meal...I usually have a Efa/whey shake 1.5-2 hrs before I train. I think working out on an empty tank tends to create a more anabolic environment for the muscles. Plus, I like to think I'm killing two birds with one stone burning fat and breaking down muscle while I'm working out.

An hour before is common too bro, so that's all good. The hour to eat pwo though is very "old school".

When bulking I usually have a sweet potato and some tuna 1 hr 15 to 1 1/2 hrs before workout, then pwo shake 5 seconds after workout (how long it takes me to sprint down the stairs and shake the stuff up), then ppwo 1 hr later, usually 1 can tuna and either 1 cup white rice or 1/2 cup oats
