You'll want to review the sticky above for assistance in constructing a plan of attack.

Most likely your "belly" is not the direct result of protein shakes, but from other errors in your methodical approach.

When you say "taking protein shakes", what do these entail in entirety?

Without critiquing your entire diet im just gonna lay out what most of us recommend here for a cutting plan of attack. once again this is just my opinion so take it for what it's worth.

Morning Cardio 45minutes 65% of max heart rate. (moderate walking)
Meal 1: Either Protein and Fat or wait 45minutes and eat Protein and Low GI Carbs (oats)
Meal 2: Protein/Fat meal/green veggies (ex: beef with broccoli or chicken with nuts)
    Meal 3: Same as 2
    workout (weight lifting)
Meal 4: PWO Whey protein shake with dextrose or other HIGH GI CARB
Meal 5: 1-2 hours later Chicken Breast with Brown Rice, Yam, OR Oats (not all three)
Meal 6: Shake/Flax Oil OR Nuts

Eat every 2.5 - 3 hours except where noted. good place to buy dextrose is www.1fast400.com
Thanks and have a nice day

It sounds like you are a ectomorph.

Three days a week tops. 30 minutes-60 minutes. Constantly change up time and frequency-or you will stagnate.

    Your body adapts to everything.

Keep nitrogen amount up without protein drinks. Use aminos. liver tabs or food untill you polish your game. Save money and have fun with it.

Then when you get about 10lbs of lbm you can get lots of puss, and we will be proud.

    enjoy

i would say most probably ur eating too much carbs..watch those carbs..and try not to have rice in every meal..especially white rice since its high in GI. if u really wana go with rice, place ur rice meal in ur pwo meal..preferably brown rice..peace out

If you must use use protein shake supplements then stick to low cal/carb and high protein shakes like Isopure instead of the mass gainers that are so popular with newbies.

I seriously doubt that substituting protein shakes in your diet for real food would cause you to gain any substantial weight, unless you're taking a weight gainer. I think your problem lies somewhere else.

Judging by your first meal: 2 tins tuna, protein shake, 4 eggs, you are ingesting far too much protein at one time. The macros for that meal probably break down to: 110g pro/4g carb/24g fat, and that adds up to 672 cals. Maybe you should consider cutting down to 35-40g protein, or 1 can of tuna and 2 eggs.

If he dropped the protein shake that would solve the problem you are speaking off. And stick with real food or other bcaa supplements he could infact gain weight if the nitrogen level is high enough and he cycled his carbs.

You shouldn't suggest he is ingesting too much protein." We have no idea what his metabosim can stand.
Also, if you do some research you will find that by increasing your intake of protein..one actually speeds up the metabolism.

    Peace

i think what he is saying is that 110g in one sitting is way too much, not to decrease the amount of total protein per day. also protein shakes are fine as long as they dont contain a lot of sugar or low quality protein. i drink at least 2 shakes as well as a Post workout shake all the in between solid food meals and i've been seeing great results, so i dont think removing shakes is the issue here. like you said though, if the shakes are a weight gainer type then it's something that needs re-evaluating.

I knew what he meant. He butted in and criticed my post without a clue on what he was talking about.

Good point to you though...about the weight gainer types. There are quite a few people who don't like to use protein shakes because honestly you don't know what you are getting. But personally I like to buy my own car instead of buying Bill Phillips one..but to each his own.

With that said, it is much easier to eat cleaner at first and learn the macros before triing the different protein powders. Just ask Joe Weider about that.

Just because it works for you doesn't mean it is the best way to go. Plenty of pros hate using powder as a source, just like plenty like using it. But since this is a newbie he should learn the basics first. If not I think there is a new Nitrotech coming out with his name written all over it.

    Peace.

Butted in and criticized your post? I was not even talking to you. He's a skinny guy, and even a 200 lb monster couldnt metabolize 110g of protein in one sitting without storing some as fat. Don't flame me when you yourself have no idea what the point of my post was.

No worries bro, he's been banned because he served no other purpose than to take up board space w/useless text. That's evident with his response here.
