You'll want to review the sticky above for assistance in constructing a plan of attack.
Most likely your "belly" is not the direct result of protein shakes, but from other errors in your methodical approach.
When you say "taking protein shakes", what do these entail in entirety?

LOL, well yes I'd say so, and check out the carb content of milk and what those carbs are comprised of!

Without critiquing your entire diet im just gonna lay out what most of us recommend here for a cutting plan of attack. once again this is just my opinion so take it for what it's worth.
Morning Cardio 45minutes 65% of max heart rate. (moderate walking)
Meal 1: Either Protein and Fat or wait 45minutes and eat Protein and Low GI Carbs (oats)
Meal 2: Protein/Fat meal/green veggies (ex: beef with broccoli or chicken with nuts)
Meal 3: Same as 2
workout (weight lifting)
Meal 4: PWO Whey protein shake with dextrose or other HIGH GI CARB
Meal 5: 1-2 hours later Chicken Breast with Brown Rice, Yam, OR Oats (not all three)
Meal 6: Shake/Flax Oil OR Nuts
Eat every 2.5 - 3 hours except where noted. good place to buy dextrose is www.1fast400.com
Thanks and have a nice day

Then when you get about 10lbs of lbm you can get lots of puss, and we will be proud.

i would say most probably ur eating too much carbs..watch those carbs..and try not to have rice in every meal..especially white rice since its high in GI. if u really wana go with rice, place ur rice meal in ur pwo meal..preferably brown rice..peace out

I seriously doubt that substituting protein shakes in your diet for real food would cause you to gain any substantial weight, unless you're taking a weight gainer. I think your problem lies somewhere else.

Judging by your first meal: 2 tins tuna, protein shake, 4 eggs, you are ingesting far too much protein at one time. The macros for that meal probably break down to: 110g pro/4g carb/24g fat, and that adds up to 672 cals. Maybe you should consider cutting down to 35-40g protein, or 1 can of tuna and 2 eggs.

You shouldn't suggest he is ingesting too much protein." We have no idea what his metabosim can stand.
Also, if you do some research you will find that by increasing your intake of protein..one actually speeds up the metabolism.

With that said, it is much easier to eat cleaner at first and learn the macros before triing the different protein powders. Just ask Joe Weider about that.
Just because it works for you doesn't mean it is the best way to go. Plenty of pros hate using powder as a source, just like plenty like using it. But since this is a newbie he should learn the basics first. If not I think there is a new Nitrotech coming out with his name written all over it.
