Lightheaded during workouts
I am just finishing up the second week of my first cycle. Everything has been so far so good except the last 2 work outs I have done I have gotten really lightheaded for about 10-15 minutes with my hands and arms tingling. I have read that some steroids affect your red blood cells ability to absorb oxygen so I am wondering if this is a side effect. Has this happened to anyone else. Any input would be appreciated. My info is below
Age: 31
Weight: 180
Height 5'11
First cycle
3 years training experience.
25 mgs D-bol ED, 250 mgs 2x/week, .5mgs Arimidex EOD.

Breath properly.

Gear has nothing to do with anything.
Some people get light headed from just standing up too quickly or smoking a ciggarette.

for me personally a banana makes a difference. Maybe it's the potassium I don't know but I might be something you want to check out

If its any consolation I tend to get lightheaded when I do squats.

Most people get lightheaded because they hold their breath when resistance is present. Big mistake. Can also cause nose bleeds.

I have the same. During my heaviest worksets I hold my breath, so that everything is tight. Just release your breath again when you finished your rep and wait a few seconds (hold yourself to the bar or something) until your blood pressure rebound has passed and you should be fine to walk around again!
What you are describing seems like a low blood glucose level, because of that you can feel lightheaded and you may also get those shaking hands. Are you doing heavy worksets with high reps and low rest intervals? Maybe some glucose in your water may resolve this problem if it occurs pretty often. Or taking a bit more rest between your sets would also be helpful probably!Last edited by Iron Mind; 08-15-2013 at 01:05 AM.

Not sure it has to do with breathing properly. I just think its weird that this never ever happened to me before, and now that I am on a cycle it is happening. That being said, I will really focus in on my breathing now to see if that makes any difference.

It's sounds like what Austine mentioned. I would look into the oxygen saturation. There are many negatives to holding your breath, including lightheaded

And what about holding your breath while your under tension.
No way I can breathe during my rep or otherwise I would lose all of my tension and I can't move any serious weight. Not mentioning I would get crushed by the weight if I would breathe when I'm on my way up during a squat. You should hold your breath during your reps otherwise you can't keep your body under tension. So there are not only negative sides on holding your breath. You should just time it a bit better so you will not faint like the dude in the vid. Just my 2 cents.

no you should not hold your breath on any resistant movement, you should breath out but very slowly keeping the tension. this is why you hear bodybuilder screaming when they are pushing, screaming out means berating out but very controlled. try it, you'll see what I am talking about.

Yeah, even a slight breath would help. If I could show you what you're doing to your body when you hold your breath under resistance, you'll never hold it again. Even the slightest release will help.

For safety check your blood pressure..., mine goes up significantly when I'm on cycle.
