    androgel results

I just got my # back from my bloodwork. after being on androgel 5gr a day for 3 mo. my levels only went from 117 to 232. does that sound like not much of a gain or is that pretty normal results? My dr told me to double the dose to 10 gr a day and recheck me in 6 wks. Does that sound like a reasonable course of action? thx alot

Yes it sounds like a reasonable approach. It is cautious, but reasonable. We all do not react the same to test, whether injectable or topical. Again though, forget the numbers and be aware of how you feel. Have you felt better? How about the "wood"? Some feel great at levels of 300, others feel like shit at 500 and need to get to 700+. Remember you're goal in trt is not to be at cycle levels, just levels your body feels normal at and operates well on.

Those numbers aren't unusual. Mine went up about 150 points total from 5g/day of androgel . Of course I am sure that my ownproduction slowed down as the androgel inhibited my production.

First off, I'm glad to hear that you are finding HRT helpfull but the advice you're getting here is the best you'll get. How you feel is the best judge of how things are working for you. I was on Androgel for 4 wks and felt pretty good. Due to low test results and insurance limits, I was switched to Test. Enth. shots every 2 wks. It's only been one week but I'm not feeling as good as I was. There may be many reasons for this so I'll just have to give it some time and see how it turns out. It may just be I need a larger dose or weekly rather than bi-weekly dosing.
Test results are simply a guide to help us find a god level as it relates to the body's normal function. That vast majority of us on HRT are there to feel better or at least more like we did when we were younger. The guys talking about building muscle don't realy belong on this particular forum, in my opinion. It's true that some douse HRT as a way to legally get Test. or other anabolics. That's not my concern and I'm not here to debate whether anabolics should be available to those who want to use them. I'm here to feel better. After I achieve that I can think about other things.
Establish a dialog with you Dr. and do your best to make him/her understand what it is you feel or don't feel. Maybe they don't grasp the whole thing. Mine hasn't! That really shouldn't be but it it's the reality of HRT in many places. I'm too new to this to venture to say that having a higher # will likely make you feel even better or help you more.
Ask lots of questions here and do a lot of reading. That's what I'm doing.
I wish you the best of luck and please keep us up to date on how things go.
    R.
