Did you ever get a BP cuff? The Doctors and drug stores are not reliable. Wednesday the Doc said my BP was 160 over something. When I got home it was 122 over 76. If you want it done correct do it yourself.

I wonder if sugar could cause it to be high for a little bit. Yesterday I took it right before bed and it was back at 128/76. Before I took it the first time I had just finished off a big bottle of gatoraide.

Maybe you exercised before the gatoraide? Isn't exercise suppose to make it higher...like you said when you ran into the store to check it you were a little out of breath and you tested a little high...then calmed down and it was lower...i think i remember asking the pharmacist if it is supposed to go up like your heart rate during/slightly after exercise and he said yes and that it is ok then....as long as it doesn't stay high...good thing your checking often...128 is in range
I know you said your doc is going to switch esters, but what did he say about the high BP scores?

The reason why it is lower before you go to bed is very simple...........stress. When you are about to go to sleep the stress of the day is behind you......you have nothing else to worry. The human mind is a funny thing. I have no doubt you will be fine!! To be honest with you I would stick with the same ester so you can see how your body responds over a few weeks!! Test e is the best for a once a week shot!!!.....no doubt!!

How long have you been on testosterone replacement therapy?
Has this occurred since you began your testosterone therapy ?
Do you continually get your blood tested?

It is back in the 127/81 range. Oh well I guess Oasis got busy. My Doc has yet to answer my email from over a week ago. I guess thats what being a "virtual" patient means. I will get my bloodtests again next week and then the out of state doc will just come up with a full HRT plan. Then I just keep him up to date and get my meds from him.
Sometimes being a HRT patient is very lonely and frustrating!

BP Answer
Sorry Spyke for taking so long to get back to you been a little busy this week. After speaking to the doctor he said that it could be due to water retention. If you doctor is not monitoring your estrogen you may have a slight increase in estrogen which will cause you to hold water and in turn increase blood pressure. Have you noticed any increase in water retention lately? If you want we can review your blood work no strings attached and let you know our thoughts. We don't charge for any consultations. Just give us a heads up that you are sending it over. I good way to check if it is water retention is to check the area around your ankles by touching a certain spot and if it leaves and indentation you may be retaining water.
Some ways of resolving this issue would be to first check you diet for sodium intake. Make sure nothing has changed in your diet recently where your intake is more than usual. If diet is in check you may want to start on a lower dosage of Anastrozole or Arimadex until estrogen supresses enough to bring this water retention down. The last resort is to maybe try lasix or some type of water pill.
If you are taking testosterone gel or creams these forms tend to aromitise to estrogen more than the injections and you may want to speak with your doctor switching you because of this problem.
Hope that helps a little and if you have any other questions please give a call or just post something and I will try to help the best I can.
